Hi there, I’m planning to register my son for Horizon…he’s due for P1 in 2015. Would like some feedback on this school. Am curious to know why it’s more popular than all the other Punggol schs (except Mee Toh). Tks!

            hi krex

i stay opp Meetoh but i reg my girl in Horizon during P1 reg 3yrs back (in 2011).

i did think to reg my girl to meetoh but end up choosing Horizon becos:
            1) p1 & p2 are in afternoon sessions.
            2) MT don’t have student care, which i need one as I’m a FTWM.
            3) heard principal is very results oriented… (very subjective lah)
            4) horizon principal came from eunos pri (formarly VP in Tao Nan), so i have confidence she can build up the reputation.
            5) new school, new facilities & also provide student care service (greendale don’t have during the P1 reg. they started same yr 2011 but only started intake in Nov).
            6) i din do any PV in meetoh…so chances of balloting is high… during 2011… 80seats for 160+ application in phase 2C.
            7) don’t want to stress my girl…

Thanks for the feedback. Can you share more about the school environment and teachers? Read somewhere about the open culture and happy students. Is it true? Do the kids get less hw or the school simply adopt a different approach to studying?

for mine, so far so good, I don feel my son is stressed up and the school build kids up to tbe independent, the teachers and principals are very approachable, unless what I heard from the more reputable schools.

I am pleased with the environment so far (1month).
My colleague’s gal oso with the school, she’s in P2 now, good feedback from them too …
Oh ya, what I like most if the in-house student care, keep me at ease that everything happened in the school, all accountable.

oh teacher are nice too. they will call the parents to give some updates if they found your kids is not behaving well or not performing well in their homework. the stduent care teachers will also update if your kids not feeling well.

so far my 2 gals are enjoying. guess i got no regrets to send them to horizon. stress parents = stress the kids.

Hi, my son is in primary 1. He is very happy with the school, keep saying he loves the school.

I have done some checks on the Punggol school. And have not regretted my choice.

The teachers and principal and vice principal are very nice and approachable.

Tks for the feedback! Read that Horizon offers Higher Chinese for P1 and it’s compulsory. It’s just one subject right? They don’t have to take Chinese, then Higher Chinese? Is it possible to opt out or my child has to take HC till P6? Are the rest of the subjects taught in Eng? Coz my friend who sent her son to Holy Innocents told me that everything is taught in Chinese except English and Maths. So stressful!
