This was on Malaysia newspaper lah....
So? The advertiser is MOE, isn't it? You mean ALL, including S'poreans need not be bonded? -
concern2:
Yes... but that isn't like what DolphinSeah claimed:- not for SC... It was advertised on foreign paper so surely \"who needs to apply\" column would be stated as \"Malaysian\"....Harlequin:

Unsubstantiated claim, right? Stirring up the anti-gov (MOE) sentiment. -

There are many other scholarships available for SC, it's just this one is \"ASEAN Scholars\" so it's for the ASEAN.
I personally have 6 friends that went for their degree/master in Columbia, Stanford, MIT... Under full scholarship.... So, I dispute her statement of \"Full scholarship for Malaysian but not for Singaporean!\" -
Itβs sad and disheartening to see parents here hurried to repost info like this without even first verify.

Yes, but how many of these scholarships are public scholarships and without bond? I know of some private foundation scholarships without bond, but these are private, not gov money.
If there are, it would be wise for the gov to publicize them because evidently many Singaporeans don't know about them. -

No need to be disheartened. Look at it positively - posting here means there is a chance to get clarified, yes?

Actually all the local universities offer full scholarships to Singaporeans and PRs only without bond. Just visit any of the uni's website - they are all there. All these are publicly funded by MOE through the universities. They are the equivalent of the ASEAN scholarship (without bond) offered to residents from ASEAN countries.Harlequin:
