Retail therapy today :rahrah: hubby needs new working pants, so have reason (or excuse) to go shopping. Like a bird with newfound freedom :imcool: ...headed to Metro (20% discount). Bought myself a pair of shoes and toner. Kept up the shopping bags when I reached home...just put hubby's new pants on the table. But he saw how happy I am and said, 'your expression said you enjoyed yourself today...that spells trouble.'

I could not be bothered. It's sure shiok to indulge in retail therapy.

Although a part time maid will solve my problems of backache and Tokuhon, I cannot stand the idea of maid taking up 4 hours and I have no privacy.
Split up my work to do...in the mood, do more. If not, just the basic like iron kids' uniforms. AND if still not in the mood, dress up and hit town.

Wow.. Vinegar.. You must have hired so many PTMs from so many countries to know so much about them.. :siam:

Since my full-time maid returned home when DS2 was 2+ years old (DS1 was 5+ years old), I decided to engage part-time help instead.. A friend introduced her PRC helper to me.. She came to my place once a week for 4 hours.. She was honest, responsible, hardworking, meticulous and she certainly KNEW how to iron clothes and mop floors.. She mopped the floors so cleanly each time she came.. She worked for me for close to 5 years.. 😄

Sadly, she had to go back to China in 2010 when her DD turned 21 years old that year.. Before she left, she introduced her friend, also a PTM, to work for me.. The transition was very smooth then.. Her friend was as hardworking and responsible as her.. And yes, she too could iron clothes and mop floors pretty well.. 😉

I have been blessed with 2 great part-time helpers.. My 2nd PTM has been with me for nearly 3 years now.. I hope that she would continue to work for me for as long as she possibly could.. 😄

Pardon me.. Somehow, I do not understand why some people have so much complaints about their PTMs.. Maybe I am luckier than them.. Or maybe their expectations of their PTMs are much higher than my expectations of my PTMs.. Well, just maybe.. :scratchhead:

With a part-time maid, workload is greatly reduced…but have to be prepared for more things in the house to spoil if using a PT. I just cannot live with the idea of inconvenience during that 4 hours. Windows not clean, backache scrubbing toilets, so what ?

When my PTM is ironing and cleaning downstairs (about 3 hours), I go upstairs (sometimes I sleep).. When she is cleaning upstairs (about 1 hour), i go downstairs..

Not that I purposely want to 'Siam' my PTM, but I don't want to get in her way when she is cleaning the house.. If I don't sleep, I will chit-chat with her while she is ironing.. She is more like a friend to me..

So, 4 hours zoom by very fast.. I don't feel any inconvenience at all.. 😄

I know what you mean...if you want the house to be clean, it's best not to be in her way...wet floor will not be sticky too. Wow, upstairs and downstairs...cool

My hubby told me I will get a PTM soon. But I told him it will mean having a a FTM, which will turn my blissful-enough SAHM life into a nightmare.

PS : MIL has decided to retire ..... so hubby thinks she sure will help out as 'PTM' (cos she will interfere & try to dominate & take over some - some via mouth not action). But her retirement means I will have a Full-Time-Mil :scared: :nailbite:

I just hung up wet floor rugs on bamboo, vacuum floor, carpet and tidied up house.

One thing extra is to clear out my cupboard…took out some of hubby’s old/worn out clothes. Wanted to do the same for kids but decided to do another day. No point getting myself tired doing all on one day.

What do you all do with old clothes? Recycling bin seem wasteful.

If the clothes are not old, then will pass to whoever can wear...sometimes hubby's pants are tight but still in very good condition. But if the working shirts or tees are old, I will put downstairs...the construction workers will take them.

Lol. My husband not tall enough. My brothers can't wear his pants. And my brother too big size for my husband shirts. My problem is that there are a number of pieces that hold special memories. I seldom shop, so almost every piece was a gift from husband or my mum. Even if I can't fit into them anymore. 😓
