Without a maid, things are definitely better. At least he doesn't have the stupid excuse that I am free to shake legs. I don't have to pay so much money to maintain a 饭桶

Tatz true.. DH also feels his ears r free from me nagging n complaining abt the maid.. at least for the last.. he was the one tat decide to send her off n not me..

n we get to teach our kids to be independent.. they learn to wash the toilet, fold their own clothes, make their bed, bring dishes to sink, wipe dry dishes, hang clothes to dry etc..

I am always the one who decided to send off the maid…when they are resistant to learn, stubborn, talked back. That’s it…off they go.

My tolerance level has already increased…but when they repeat the same irritating habits, I cannot go on keeping them…either I die or slap them and appear in the newspapers for maid abuse.

But the LAST maid scared the hell out of me…I was fed up and tired of waking up at 6am for 2-3 weeks to teach them. Usually I would go to the agency to pick out a new maid and then do the procedures of changing…but I did not after the Filipino maid. I breathed easier and it felt so good.

i can still remember it was just after my daughter's 4th birthday...we took a car ride past Tanglin Mall and in the car, I agreed to maid's request to let her meet a cousin or aunt. Next day, she just decided to go crazy.
Called the agency since I can't get anything out from maid. That was really the last straw...my daughter is 9 this year...these 5 years without a maid was happier than having one around.

                    POA Teacher:
\"If she is stupid she won't be a maid\". This is often quoted by many people. No offence meant, but personally, I feel that that is an ignorant, condescending, insulting comment.

In the less developed countries, many intelligent people do not have the opportunity for higher studies. So just cos they don't work in some atas job does not mean that they are stupid.
Absolutely agree :hi5: many of these domestic workers I hv met have reasonable intelligence. They took up a job like being a helper for various reasons, one of which is the better opportunity it offers in terms of higher pay and being able to visit another country for instance. The perceived lack of intelligence, is seldom one of them.

And yes, I think cunning and stupid are different things.

hehe...that is a good one. I also told my DH the same thing;my DH also gave the same replies Exactly like ur DH :scared:

Then my DH said:\"that is not stupid, that is cunning\". :frustrated:

acting stupid to eat a tiger...扮猪吃老虎.
what your hubby said is true...sometimes these maids are cunning. they assess their employers to see if they can bully...whether they can control their employers or not.

Wow! This is so true. I think my Phil maid has been doing this for the past 1/2 year. I've had enough and already warned her. Now I will see if she behaves; otherwise, she can go home. I'm prepared to go without a maid.

This thread is motivation that I can do without a full time maid. So thanks to all the ladies here. :salute:

My 3rd indon maid and the last Filipino maid really 扮猪

After my first super efficient Indon maid went home, I was totally lost and had to pick up pieces doing housework again. With subsequent ones, I realized I didn't have luxury of being 'lost' again, I knew I could do without maids. Filipino maid was the last straw...after 3 months of that 饭桶, and her refusal to learn cooking, we went maid less till today...5 years :rahrah:
She really lived up to that proverb...ate the most but acted terribly stupid until you wanted to strangle her.
