hmm, first, we applaud your aspiration. we parents here are not sure what you trying to do (appeal) is a good idea! As you must hv read, all IP schools, DH, CG or any IP schools, it is definitely NOT a walk in the park! The workload is tremendous not to say that independent learning is a Norm!

What we meant here , teachers will not spoon feed you as in non-IP schools. You are expected to read ahead, know and understand what is going to be taught (don't expect that!, hahaha) It is more of self-discovery learning … Assuming your appeal is successful, are U ready for NYH, NJC or even RGS that kind of pace. Are you ready to learn sec 4 topics in sec 2… or even beyond! That is the pace of learning in some cases!

We suggest you better ask your parents to read the forum on those IP schools that you are interested. Your parents need to make informed choices! We meant to share good advices….good luck to you.

      Hey 🙂

I am a sec 1 girl this year. At the end of the year, I would like to appeal 4 schools. I know that's a lot...

      The 4 schools are:

      Nanyang

      NJC

      SCGS

      MGS

I would like to ask what are my chances if my PSLE T score is 241+3 I know it's SUPER LOW... 😞

Can everyone tell me how to appeal? Are the tests hard? Is it possible? What do I have to do? If possible PLS PLS PLS tell me everything abt EACH school. I AM REALLY DESPERATE AS I WANT TO GET INTO THOSE SCHOOLS BADLY!!!!! Thank you so much. 😄

And 1 more thing... To appeal to RGS is it really super hard and impossible to get in??

HI guys I’m in NYGH Sec 1 and although it is only the start of secondary sch life, things are getting really stressful. Almost every week, there are graded quizzes, graded assignments etc. maybe we just have to accept this fact and not be so marks-conscious. Only then can we not b stressed abt graded tasks. As for teachers, i’m rather shocked that the tchrs in ny are actuallly biased as up till now my teachers are still relative caring and kind.As for the stressfulness, I rem what my geog teacher( who was an Ny student) told us during the first lesson: I do not see 30 students but 30 rubber bands. I am here to stretch you but not let you break.

Esp I'm in 103, which is like the bilingual class (stronger in languages) and also one of the PSLE top classes and the teachers' expectations of us are higher. As for teachers, i'm rather shocked that the tchrs in ny are actuallly biased as up till now my teachers are still relative caring and kind.As for the stressfulness, I rem what my geog teacher( who was an Ny student) told us during the first lesson: I do not see 30 students but 30 rubber bands. Hi Justonestudent,

Do you mind sharing how you come to know that 103 is a top psle score class and a class stronger in languages?

My kid does not seem to know anything. When I asked her if her class has any salient characteristic, or which class is the hmp/aep/gep/top/sports class, she says she got no idea as 'all classes are mixed'!

But it seems to me that there are groupings of students of different strengths from this thread.

If alrdy accepted CO fr DSA, cannot appeal to transfer after PSLE results,
unless with very valid reason which subjected to approval by MOE....

Have to honour lah, DSA committment is duo way....

FTW_Dunmanian, it's ok lah....i also din choose NYGH for my gal ultimately .....
Since u have chosen yr nick as \"FTW_Dunmanian\" i believe u feel the sense of belonging for the sch......

Once decision is made....look forward, dont look backward..... 😄

If you DSA'd into Dunman, then you wouldn't have been given the option for S1 Central Posting so you wouldn't have been able to put NYGH as your first choice. I'm curious as to why you would want to transfer to NYGH given that your nick is FTW_Dunmanian. I assume you've settled nicely into DHS by now?
