This Auntie in training went to the Robinsons member’s sale on Thursday since need to replace the pots and pans at home. Wanted a particular set only to be told they discontinued that series. So bought some mix and matches of various brands and got a lot of freebies that I don’t need. Came home, itchy backside, went online to check if the series I wanted is still available on any online store. It is and at a fraction of it’s original retail price and way cheaper than what I have just bought. So order that set to add to what I have bought. May end up with some dupes. Maybe can pass to my mum.

Buds is a naughty aunty here...she has a creative imagination with fruits related to you-know-what

I was at IMM...saw this WMF steamer. Standing there thinking if it is suitable. Promoter was quite fed up with this aunty...better still, leave me alone.
Morning when steaming pau for breakfast, hubby takes out big steamer which is a sore eye after that. So this one will do the trick. He complained that it was small :slapshead: asked him how many paus he plan to steam...10 or 20?

Haha. Talk about promoter. I was looking at some pots of a particular brand and wondering which sizes I should get. The promoter went rattling on and on about how good they are and with the sale very worthwhile. I told her ok, let me think what I need. And everytime I reach for a pot she immediately went. ‘ok this one, I take for you.’ Told her no, I still thinking, if I confirm I want I will let her know. She continued hovering and again when I reached for another pot, she will quickly say say ‘ok this one, this one good,’ and went to bring out the stock to put into my shopping bag. I got fedup told her she too pushy so I not buying that brand anymore. I went to the promoter across from her and bought the pots from her instead.

Pushy promoters are so irritating. Like when I top up my supply of calcium tablets, they come and bug you about their brand and how good and how much better blah blah blah. Once I did a survey of calcium tablets when there were no promoters around…I do not take pill type…only capsule. When promoters bug, I tell them I only take capsule type. I don’t know how to swallow big tablets.

That's why Sales is an Art. Some can sell ice to Eskimos.

We Aunties & Ah Peks can see what's inside the heads of promoters when they push a sale. Hard sell = Commission commission $$$%%%. They only want to sell. They don't even pretend to understand our needs. Just buy!

What do promoters care? Obviously it’s just commission.

As consumers, and especially as aunties, we have to buy pot/pans we will need. I am fussy with size…not too big or small. If I normally fry 4 eggs, I will get that right size. Hate it when I touch a pot and promoter says, ‘I take new one for you’.
