P6 is worse. I think less than 5 in the top class get B1.
<5 outta 40? Must be sec 2 std, those papers are.
I was going to congratulate you until I saw the score. :shock:FQW:
My boy came home saying he has the 3rd highest HCL mark in his HCL class for this CA1.
Congrats? He failed the paper though- 29/60
According to ds, this yr's P3 CA1 killer paper was Eng. Heard only 12 in 3R9 got B1, average class score was 77%. Quite curious to see that paper. -
dyh:
So the whole P6 cohort, no one got into B1?
My son said the highest in P6 is around 50/60. second highest is around 45/60.Jennifer:
Just realised your child is newly transferred to PH.
This year P6 has 6 classes of HCL.
My boy is in the 6th class - total number of pupils is 16. Out of 16, only 2 passed. highest class score is 33.5/60, lowest class score is 15/60
My boy said the 1st HCL class has 1 pupil who failed the paper, 2nd HCL class also has 1 or 2 pupils failed, 5th HCL class has 1/2 the class failed.
He did relatively well for the mock paper. We did not expect such results at the actual CA1.
I smsed his FT who informed me the cohort did not do too well for HCL. But told me not to worry until the papers are returned.
Surely (at least) there'll be some PRC kids that will do well in MT rite? -
Hearing abt P6’s Eng & Chinese CA stds makes me worried and these do not even include compo writing yet…
So other P3 classes other than 3R9 do not know any CA subject results yet?Understand that each class’s papers are marked by teachers from other classes. -
FQW:
yup. PRC kids included. btw, last year p5 Chinese was topped by a local. So the whole P6 cohort, no one got into B1?

This yr's P4 cohort is super strong. We can take reference from them. If their results also follow similar pattern as the rest, then we know it's due to difficulty of paper. Let's console ourselves, hehe.Hearing abt P6's Eng & Chinese CA stds makes me worried and these do not even include compo writing yet..

I don't know whether this helps. Heard that last yr's Eng CA1 average (level-wise) was under 60%. I found out from personal experience that as early as P2 SA2, sch starts to mark the papers according to PSLE std. One compre question was asking to quote a phrase from the passage, ds made a small transfer error (missed out the word 'the'), and got zero. :faint:My kid just transferred to phpps this year.

Reading the last few pages, I'm also starting to be concern with his (yet-to-be known) score. Only knows he's out of B1. -

Mine said he got only half a mark :faint:
