Does anyone have recommendation of a coach to teach kids at AMK Ave 1 swimming complex? Please PM me if not convenient to post here.

      Thanks 🙂
Really depends as different coaches has different styles... You may want to bring your kid to the medium pool where most coaches train the kids and observe them.
One is strict n hands on and u can hear the shouting - his class seems biggest at 11 as he can control with his military voice. Another two very fatherly with the 3 yr olds. Another one is medium n normal. On sat mornings, you can see all 4. U may approach your choice coach after their lessons n ask as their vacancy n your timing may not match.

Hihi , need some advice here ..

Currently my 5 yrs old child with zero swimming background is attending
lesson with kids in intermediate level . He is the only begineer . At 8th lessons now , I still din see him learn kicking . Mostly is
underwater breathing and the coach will hold him to swim with the board . Was thinking whether I should change him to a ALL begineer class as everybody will be doing the same activities ? Tks
Really depends on your observation of lesson. Coach must teach n child must learn. Some children scared being push into their comfort zone. Some needs to be pushed to move on.
Being only beginner has advantage as the others need not be under watchful eyes n the coaches normally give instructions n they can go. So more individual attention given.
But no peer influence push factor as you cant gauge whether you child is progressing or not. In another angle, can be stressful for some as others are progressing faster than them.
You have to assess your child needs and your expectation - to decide. My son has been a yr into swimming since 5 plus. From zero knowledge, he started breathing exercises to head on board to head down with board in front. A yr has passed, some would say he is slow as he only learnt free style, back stroke n now into breast stroke. And not fantastic in the first 2 yet. But his interest is still alive and I am not in a hurry to graduate him from swimming.
I know of a child who finished entire swim course by end P3 and now doing leisure swimming only - so is really pay for a structured swim course and graduated.

              hi Ninjago,

Agree with you that different kids adapt to different learning styles. My kid has passed swimsafer stages 1 - 4. I need a coach who can help him to improve his swimming techniques.

                    Hi

My 4+ year old is currently learning swimming one on one with a coach at Katong Swimming Pool. Timing is Saturday 11am.

Please pm me if your kid wants to join? If it is two in a class it will be cheaper - around $30+ per lesson if I am not wrong. Coach is very patient and good.
