      Jennifer:

Found a picture of a tomato plant flower.

Now confirmed this morning I saw the flower buds on my tomato plant :rahrah:

      you are cute...
seeing you cheering for the tomato plant makes me feel happy too 🙂

my definition of cute = ugly but adorable

I am becoming uglier - sagging eyes and cheeks and lips turning upside down - recently I told my elder boy I want to go for skin lift. His eyebrows shot upwards.

But I cant decide which ones to cut…sigh…so sayang..
        Ya, I understand.

I started planting by putting a half cut tomato into the soil. A week of no activity. I thought soil was wrong, hence no growth. Then suddenly, one by one popped up. I waited for each seedling to be at least 3-5 cm tall before repotting. Did not hv enough pots, so \"murdered\" at few \"late poppers\".

Hey, this reminds me of my elder boy - botak for a long time, then suddenly whole head is thick like carpet grass :rotflmao:

😄 I picked up gardening towards the end of Dec last year.

Started with a pot of chilli plant FOC from the nursery. The 2nd pot was a 无心插柳.

The tomato plants are a experiment gone viral 😂

All the best to you :rahrah:

                    Jennifer:
Thanks all for the warm welcome.

At present, my elder boy is with Modular Education @ Bt Timah Plaza. Prob is there were only 2 children when we started after the Jun hols. The other classmate has dropped out midway, leaving only my boy now. The centre has agreed to continue for next term on a 1-1 basis at no extra charge(which I am very grateful for) even though they do not have a policy for such arrangement (ie 1-1).

Modular Education specialises in Maths and English. The Chinese dept is outsourced to an agency. I met the person in charge during the open house and she told me she is from a centre specialising in Chinese located in Thomson Plaza.

My boy's Chinese has improved greatly as the school materials (HC) is repeated again at the tuition centre in greater details. His grades in tingxie has gone up from 50-60+ to 70-80+.

I hv heard that Berries is for young children and Tien Hsia for upper primary. But I doubt my boy would ever want to attend Tien Hsia once he knows about their weekly spelling list 😂 He does not like the subject.

I am now thinking of dropping HC next year so that he concentrates on NC for PSLE. It's so difficult to get him to self study for NC too.

As for the younger boy, he is more playful. So I think a play environment would suit him. He's not the sit down to do guy.

Btw do we need to pay for trial lesson?

Been busy this week, hv yet to explore this forum extensively

                    TIA your advices.
:congrats: You child is considered good already!
                    Hi, (I am a newbie)
I am a Primary 5 student and  I feel that your son is so lucky! My Chinese is horrible...3 out of 6 Chinese tingxie, need to redo (below 70).
Only 3 out of the 6 Chinese tingxie is 90/100 and above! My mother usually scolds me because of this.
Do you have any other good 'Chinese Improvement' Centres that you can recommend? (I go to HAN Language Centre, but I still am horrible, and it had not really helped me. Not saying that the tuition centre is horrible! Just saying that it didn't help me.)
                    Thanks a lot!
(By the way, if this is a little comfort to some very 'kiasu' parents that think their child is horrible even though they get a lot better than me, this is from the girl that failed Normal Chinese! and had less than 70% for my P4 total score percentage.)

Hi, my elder boy is sec 4 this year. Time flies o so quickly.

Are you doing HCL & NC or only NC?

I had sent my younger boy to Han Language when he was in P3. Did not see improvement after 2 terms. I felt that the school (which is Pei Hwa a SAP school) has higher than normal expectations. Not all tuition centres match the school's standard. Hence I pulled out my younger boy from Han Language and enrolled him into Hua Cheng. His P3 grades improved.

We continued with Hua Cheng in P4. Grades sort of maintained. But Chinese compo CMI. Towards the end of the year, I enrolled him in another centre, so he had 2 Chinese tuition in a week. End year result okok.

Come P5, we decided to discontinue all tuition since they do not seem to help much despite the long hours put in. Wrong decision big time. SA2 failed HCL.

To prepare for P6, I engaged a private tutor last Oct and sent him to Hua Cheng since Jan. Being better prepared this time, he made good progress in NC but but but still failed HCL by half mark.

The school has yet to inform us whether my younger boy can still continue with HCL for the rest of the year. Tmr is the Parents Meet Teachers day, dunno if we will be told of the school decision.

Having said the above, I do not think I am in any position to give you any recommendations.

Can just offer you words of encouragement.
