May I know if anyone has started SS project on Merger & Separation ? Can tell what is required ? Just saw the deadline of submission is 22 Apr but DS2 is not informed of anything ... TIA.
Hi Dagong, I saw an email fr tr addressing on this but seems like this will only roll out in Mar prior to the one wk holiday. DD is doing 1st SS portfolio draft & IRS 1st draft as the dateline is drawing near.
Still in CNY mood now....
As for 1st SS portfolio draft, is it the artefact one ?
DS2 school hasn't started on the IRS yet, DS2 just went for the IVP Launch last Friday .... he said it's fun but he know nothing else

E2K is opened to mainstream as well, DS1 took it in P5 & P6 last time and there will be a competition at the end of it.
Hi, I heard this fr DD but don't understand what is this E2k is about. Only got to know that There is this 'Little Professor' Sci inter school competition.sleepy:
Did every one of your kids go through E2K?
My dd's Science teacher told them E2K is not for geppers.
E2K is available in a GEP school but for mainstream
Understand GEP is providing leadership Camp which DD's Sch has nominated afew to participate. This is highly recommended if yr DC gets in.
DS2 went for the 1st session of Little Professor last week and there was an indiviual home research that was due last Sat. There is 2 more sessions coming up.
AS for the Leadership Camp, no news on it. Maybe DS2 not selected.

With Term 1 coming to an end, an update on what's done so far in DS2 school, just in case I miss out anything that I should know (DS2 still needs me to monitor, sad to say :oops: ) :
English : Mystery Short Story (almost done, submission of final draft this Friday), 1st ERP (no news :scratchhead: , anyone has any idea ?)
Chinese : 1st Unit Test over and results out
Math : Primary Math Masterclass screening today
Science : Science Performance Task over and results out
Others : Little Professor & E2K International Virtual Conference & IVP Launch over
Coming up next term :
- P5 Chinese Language Camp during the Mar holidays
- RIPMWC & P5 Adventure Camp & ICAS & HCL Unit Test 2 & Social Studies Project : Merger & Separation in Apr

SS - I noticed the deadline is 22 Apr but nothing has been given out yet, so a bit worried, not sure if DS2 forgets all about it He's rather slow in doing projects.
P5 Camp, yes by NH but all other schools oso going but maybe different dates, depending on the individual schools, I remembered signing a form that ask if what type of meal they prefer, T-Shirt size, any allergy .... but not what they should bring :scratchhead: but DS2 looking forward to it 'free from naggy mummy' :evil:

Mystery short story due on 13 Mar.
For ERP, DD has completed and submitted on 11 Mar. It is to convince movie director to buy yr story and abt 400 words. Commercially blinded and marks will be awarded for front cover illustration. At least, these 2 projects are finally completed.
Chinese : 1st Unit Test over and results out
No news yet
Math : Primary Math Masterclass screening today
DD said it was challenging !
Science : Science Performance Task over and results out
Not known yet. Only been told highest score is 19/20
Others : Little Professor & E2K International Virtual Conference & IVP Launch over.
Coming up next term :

. It is on 19 Mar - Tues. a full day and the girls are heading to NYPS.

Enrichment Activities for GEP: Primary Mathematics Masterclass
Aim
The aim of the Primary Mathematics Masterclass is to challenge pupils who have demonstrated exceptional ability in Mathematics by exposing them to topics beyond the GEP Primary Mathematics curriculum.
Objectives
To provide pupils who are strong in Mathematics the opportunity to learn topics outside the GEP Math curriculum;
■To expose pupils to the thinking that is characteristic of a mathematician and be able to communicate mathematical ideas fluently;
■To provide opportunities for pupils to interact and discuss mathematical ideas.
Programme Description
The Masterclass is held over 3 days in the June holidays and is organised by the Gifted Education Branch. About 30 participants from the 9 primary centres will be selected to attend the Masterclass, based on their results in a selection test.
At the Masterclass, pupils will be exposed to advanced mathematics concepts in areas like Number Theory, Graph Theory and Combinatorics. There will be an emphasis on developing problem-solving skills through interesting and challenging problems.
After the Masterclass, pupils will be selected to participate in the mathematics mentorship programme. This programme aims to further develop participants’ interest and talent in mathematics. Participants will have the opportunity to be mentored by a mathematician and do research in mathematics. Selection of participants will be based on their interest as well as learning attitude during the Masterclass.
Target Group
Primary pupils who have high ability in Mathematics.
