Buds, I m on diet leh. Hahaha… I fixed soba noodles tdy with chicken nuggets and my p1 ds said, wah, mama is the best cook! Ha, if I can cook like you, he won’t want to eat outside Nasi lemak anymore. Hahaha.

I used to goreng the sambal Tumis , then spent the whole afternoon cleaning up the kitchen. Now very tired to do it liao. Then my good Malay neighbour gives me little tubs of the sambal now and then.

Eh,your family so blessed to have a good cook at home! And your presentation is so nice! I m very inspired

                  Buds,

Can I ask you, for the Nasi lemak, what type of coconut milk did u put? The squeeze from scratch ones, or can I buy the ready made ones in cartons ( I know super lazy:oops: )

Hi Dora1, actually any type will do these days aye? There are so many in the market. Before every other thing came boxed up, i used to enjoy my running errands for mumsie especially getting the freshly grated coconut. The smell is craaaazzzzeeeyy yummy ya know wat i mean? Brings you places where the likes of chendol.. pulut hitam with extra coconut milk.. all the yummilicious kuehs and what nots.. uh-huh.. yummy. Aniwaes, i'm currently with Kara.

                      http://i48.tinypic.com/33a7ar6.jpg\">

The smallest (square) box of Kara coconut milk on the extreme right suits my old Tefal rice cooker; cookin' 2.5-3 cups of rice.. i am generous with my pandan leaves and i also add freshly grated ginger in too apart from salt to taste. 😉

Too much it'd curd up loads over the cooked rice or end up soggy-soft.. too little won't be nicely coconutty and a tad dry. That's why i mentioned how it suited my old rice cooker. New rice cookers tend to cook on the dot with +1 mark up of water over the number of cups of rice. But mine may need 1.5 to 2 marks up. So, must also marry the cooker with enough coconut milk+water according to the one you have at home. It may take a few tries to get it just right but if ya don't try, ya never know. 😄

                        Hi buds

Thanks for the reply! Good to know that I dun need to hunt for the freshly grated coconut. I normally buy the ayam brand low fat coconut milk to cook curries, just to reduce the guilt a bit hee hee.
Thanks for the instructions, I’ll try next week and let u know!
