To P4 parents: For EL CA1, what do you think of the teacher’s answers for questions 14 and 18? They don’t sound right to me.

1) yet
2) then
3) since
4) so

I agree with you. The comprehension passages including the visual text stimulus are pretty challenging and can catch many pupils off guard if they do not fully understand the gist of the passage.Just saw the P3 Eng CA1 paper. Really set to an extremely high standard. Hardly any give-away questions at all.
Considering the difficulty, I'm actually satisfied ds got the marks he did. Most questions he got wrong were really beyond his level (i.e. not due to carelessness).
Same here. I'm quite happy with his EL score; also pleased with his results for other subjects. Now have to look ahead and prep for Term 2 challenges. -
Thanks for all your feedback.
The teacher's answer is \"yet\", but I have been using \"so\" for similar sentences all my life.
I checked the dictionary -- \"yet\" means \"nevertheless\" or \"however\". So it does not seem to fit in because the test result mentioned is a surprise.
If the sentence begins with \"All of us...\", then I will say the answer is \"yet\". -
P4 EL CA1 question 18:
\"You need this ticket to enter the museum, ___ you?\" asked Cally.
1) do
2) don't
3) did
4) didn't
I think the answer should be \"don't\" since \"need\" is in present tense. But teacher said \"didn't\" is the answer. :?
