Why so many plasters in the forum now?
-
I ignore the ads when I see them
-
Put ads on the right, left, bottom, or top…but not in the middle please.

Agree... Agree... -

Ads are plastered all over...quite an eye sore. Each time I thought I reached end of page, there is actually an ad separating the posts...can something be done please?
Isnt this what advertisers want/desire when they advertise on sites......to be in the middle of the page so that viewers will not miss it....
Perhaps different rates, depending on where their ads are ..... -

Hehe....either Advertisers pay or we pay (thru subscription), i rather choose the former.....
I think that's how website works to get additional source of income.Nebbermind:
Donch like that leh!
Ads is a source of income for CKS, ya?
Tho I dun really like it, it doesn't hurt so I :censored:
Must let KSP survive.........

The thing is - after a while, we just scroll past them! Whether left, right, center, bottom, top, we will still scroll past them. The only reason why I would want the ads to be anywhere except middle is because it sort of breaks the flow of reading posts.janet_lee88:

well it’s true advertisers pay more to paste their ads smack in the middle but to read the posts, i will just scroll past. is this the desired result…to pay more to be eye-catching only to get ignored ?

Hi Janet_lee88 and All,
Thanks for all the feedback and support. The original intention is to test out the ads placement to maximize the return as the forum has the highest page views but is under performing.
The reason why the Ads is placed in the middle and not the side is because this causes the lease disruption to the forum layout and suppose to be lease disruptive as it only appear in the middle and can be easily scrolled pass.
We will monitor the performance of this middle Ads for a few more weeks and see its effect, if the performance does not justify the \"eye sore\", then we definitely take it off and think of some other Ads placement in forum.
Please bear with us for a while more while we test out, it is not our intention to make this an \"eye sore\" -
There are 85k+ KSP members, round the clock 24/7 there are members and non-members surfing KSP, surely some would find the ads are useful, provide them a easy source of looking for service providers.
I for one use some of them, with each page different ads, I get to view different ads, those are valuable info too. -

That is good feedback, I think why the middle Ads is irritating could be because it is serving out the same flashy Ads over the past few days, and this can be distracting when reading the forum. I have changed the middle Ads to be text only, this should provide more useful Ads that are not too distracting.
