Any recommendation for science enrichment? Has anyone tried Learning Point or Science Alive at Marine Parade? Thanks.

his grades for english and mother tongue dropped quite a lot by about 10-15 marks. Is this normal? Me getting worried and trying to help him do better for SA1.

        Hi Club 2002 :celebrate: ,

I suppose it is reasonable given that the papers are set according to PSLE format. DD's EL HOD told the class that a score of 85 and above is consider a feat and only a handful would manage it ๐Ÿ˜“ , so go ahead and give your DC lots of :hugs: :snuggles: when they are there or not too far off, time to :nunchuk: :nunchuk: if not there yet.

getting the right enrichment for dc is important and sometimes can be time consuming tooโ€ฆ very often we do not know how strong (or weak) dc is in a subject until we see the SA marks in upper pri levelโ€ฆ

Yup, I guess u're rite though looking at the grades DS1 is getting for the two subjects, I almost freaked out. I need to let loose a bit cos he's not doing so bad since both his maths and science grades are still band 1. Hopefully he'll do better in SA1. :snuggles: ๐Ÿ’‹

Though there is perceived fall in most subjects, with consistent practices and revisions, I believe the result will pay off by end of year. Let's add grease/oil :nunchuk: :nunchuk: :nunchuk:

Well the experience from CA1 was already a wake-up call for me :scared: :nailbite: ๐Ÿ˜“

Now my ds feedback to me that for HCL, he doesnot know how to do the editing section (the one they purposely give the wrong chinese character with the same sound). Is this common?

For HCL class, some kids already being recommended by the teacher to join lower chinese class today. My dsโ€™s class, 2 kids had been asked to drop out HCL.

SA1 is coming complete with oral, listening, compo.

I am not sure whether recommendation is a good thing or not. My dd now in sec sch, was with this enrichment class for 3 years since P4 till PSLE. She got A star. She enjoyed and benefit a lot from each experiment that they had done every lesson. She scored band one thru' out.
But hor, it doesn't seem to work well for my second one. He said he enjoys but it doesn't show in the science result.

                        Octoberbaby,

For the editing section, did he practice on assessment books?
My boy is hit and miss on this section. It all boils down to reading regularly and knowing how the sentence flow. And also must know how to write.
