Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

Hi iams.mummyHi mummies, am intending to enrol my dd for the Chinese enrichment lesson. But......she refuse to attend. She tell me she hate chinese. Mummies here can share ur experience if u also have the same case with me. How to convince her?
Thanks..
You may wish to bring her to the enrichment centre (that you intend to enroll her in), let her look around the environment, the classes and opt for a trial, if the centre allows that.
Besides the reputation/materials of the centre, the teachers need to be passionate & engaging to hold the interest level of the young kids in the class.
On your part, you can read her Chinese books - dont hv to be wordy type, can be big colourful pictures with few words.
Or get some Chinese audio CD+book or even VCDs (though i dont really recommend that)....main purpose is to tickle her interest.
Flash cards and materials is also another source you can look out for, altho i m not sure how old your DD is..
My DS refused to speak a word of Mandarin only until K1, mainly due to a change of his CL teacher at CC and also started to attend CL enrichment course.
You may also wish to check with her CL teacher in her kindy/CC how she is doing in school and if there is any way you can work with her to minimize her dislike/fear in the language. -

My two kids also have the same problem when they are small. You need to know what characters or storyline that your kids like and get chinese books on those areas and read to them since young. I sent my dd to Kinderland Chinese Immersion Programme daily when she is K2. Maybe it's because my dd completed her K2 study in Kinderland so she don't find going for the Chinese Immersion Programme is another enrichment programme. Currently, she has no problem coping with HCL in P1 this year.Hi mummies, am intending to enrol my dd for the Chinese enrichment lesson. But......she refuse to attend. She tell me she hate chinese. where do you stay? my 2 DS go to a tuition centre in the east, and my youngest DS got 87.5 this semester, previously scoring only 55-65 marks. The teacher are experienced local teachers, i even saw their qualification.
Can you kindly advise me which ctr did you send your kids to? My DS really needs help for her Chinese. -

Dear parents, can u share with me what do the enrichment centres teach for N2/K1 level? My girl used to speak mandarin horribly but ever since i started to home teach chinese to her this yr, her chinese has improved. She can converse more in mandarin now and can recognise more and more chinese characters. She is also ok with the strokes so far. So i am wondering if we still need to send her for any enrichment classes . Thanks!
