Anyone can give advice on my earlier post?

Can I check with any of you whether I am correct that for sec1, History will start from term 3 and Geograohy syllabus will finish end term 2? Also to ask will there be SA2- year end exam, for Geography? If yes, which will mean DS has to revise Geography again after no more lessons for 3rd to 4th term?

What the principal said is only partially true - team bonding. Take for example how many players are there in basketball, badminton CCA compared to the golf CCA? I saw the number of students training in the golf CCA web site is comparable to the others if not more. The main reason is the golf CCA is not producing result for the school unlike the others. This is not aligned to what the government/moe is trying to promote now, healthy activities and not just for medals. Would like to share another CCA brought up by a senior graduating student - chess was merged with other CCA and finally also taken out although there are many students going for it. The school is unwilling to even endorse the chess competition forms (not asking the school to pay but just endorsed so that the student pay lesser). Sad for those who are interested in chess which is considered a brain sport but was forced to out. Looks like have to engage the minister on this issue regarding the choice of CCA in school.

I guess the fact is the message is written on the wall…"Result Oriented"…well results, results and results…be it academic or non-academic…one must be good, one must bring results, if not why need cca selection, beside the point of limited vacancies. So what if the kid has the passion but not good enough. Who dont want to best, if not the better. In a way, have to accept the situation. 🙂

              Dear Parents,

As a current student of MSHS, I'm here to share about my experience in this school for the past two years. Honestly speaking, I didn't quite exactly enjoy my time in here, probably due to all the discipline cases that my class had to settle since last year till now. Long story short, I really hate going to school now and just want to request for a transfer to another school. Should I or should I not?
I need some advice on this matter. Thanks. 🙂

Sorry to hear that you hate going to school now.

Have you spoken to any of your teachers yet or maybe you want to approach your principal or school counsellor who can help you.
What sort of disciplinary cases do your class have? Are they very serious ones?
All the best & God bless.

I was wondering whether bullying and theft cases is the norm in most boy schools.

                      Hi,

History and Geography are taught on a half year basis, ie in Sec 1, Term 1 and Term 2 will be on Geography and Term 3 and Term 4 will be on History. SA1 will only have geography and SA2 only history, which means that the marks your DS gets for geography in this coming SA1 will be final, SA2 will not have geography.

This is what my DS went through 2 years ago, not sure if they have change the rule.

YLH88, thanks for your reply. By the way, DS (sec1) just informed of the SA1 timetable. There is Literature exam. CT1 doesn’t have. Can I know what will be tested? The past class Lit works are based on teacher’s given extract. Will there be a text to be read up in advanced?
