      KSmom8:
      HELP!

Am looking for a RELIABLE front load Washing machine... Which brand or model should I go for? Any information / recommendation is highly appreciated.

My 8kg front load Brandt washing machine has been certified as \"not worth repairing\". It's only 3 and a half years old, which is sooo ridiculous!!! ( My previous Electrolux lasted 11 years - but it was not made in Thailand.) Cost of repairs estimated at $3xx plus touch panel also going to 'kaput' according to serviceman and that will cost at least another $2xx. Do most / all washing machines have this lifespan?

Are you happy with your front load washing machine? Please share. Really need to get a new front load washer urgently.
I am using an electrolux. Good, I like. Quiet and efficient. Been using for 4yrs Liao, doing fine.

I previously had 2 Aristons. 1st one lasted 8 years, second one 5 years. Now I use LG Model WD-10481TP, 7.5kg and I am very happy with the model. It’s coming to 4 years. It has hot water, extra rinse, prewash, baby care option and a quick 30 for emergency wash. Came with 2 Yr warranty and we paid some extra to extend 1 more year but so far never used the warranty.

We figured no point paying so much for European brand anymore as they do not last like they used too. If my LG can last 5 years, that would have met my expectation. Any longer is a bonus.

My LG washer just couldn’t power on 2 weeks ago.

I bought the extended warranty from Best Denki. So they have a contractor to take the washer and it would take 1 or 2 weeks to fix.

These days, it seems that electronic stuff are built to just last a few years so they can stay in business! My thinkpad monitor recently just went blank just after warranty expire.

:thankyou: sundaymorning, Osim, Imami, st2, for sharing.

We went shopping for a washer and liked the feel of the Electrolux. Perhaps, because we had an Electrolux before so it felt comfortable. However, the 8 kg made Italy model which we liked was discontinued and unavailable. Left the \"made in Thailand\" models. Heard the new models will be launched end of April or May, so the remaining ones are sold at discounted price - actually good time to buy ELectrolux if happy with available models.

In the end, we settled on a LG 8kg front load made in Thailand washer. Total cost of LG washer (including 3 yrs extended warranty ) still less than cost of the 8 kg \"made in Thailand\" Electrolux ( without extended warranty ), Plus LG has 10 year warranty on motor. A friend said her washer repairman recommended LG. Hope we made the right decision.

Looking forward to delivery of washer - my Phil helper showing black face after only 1 day of hand washing. Hope this washer will be reliable. :xedfingers: 🙏

              KSmom8,

Wow, your LG has 10 year warranty for motor. That is the most expensive part of the machine. Good deal.

Just from my experience, may not be so for others, I think it used to be good when they were from Europe. Now all from Asia, perhaps Thailand, not as good. My last one, motor broke down after 5 years. Usually, if motor dies, can throw away machine unless they can help you find a recon one. Too expensive to replace and also European machines spare parts also more expensive. I think KSmom above got LG with 10 Yr warranty for motor is very good.

Wanted to promote Panasonic washing maching but seems that you have bought one.

Never used a LG before. Do drop a message to let us know how is it after you try it out. 😃

Yes, will do so. After delivery, I understand that I will need to book an appointment for demonstration....I understand LG sends someone to demonstrate and teach. Hope it will be a fruitful session.

The 10 year warranty is indeed a bonus. I feel that LG must have confidence in their motor to offer this warranty.

When we were shopping, noticed that Bosch front load 8 kg also has a 10 year warranty on motor. The model is made in Germany. Price also discounted ... tempted....but still expensive.
