      Jennifer:

Hubby bought a bottle of ordinary white wine last week to cook mussels.

Now we are left with > half a bottle.

      Any tested recipes?

      Many thanks in advance.

Try this basic risotto recipe, with bacon bits : http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/rice-recipes/a-basic-risotto-recipe

      How does it taste like?

How does it taste like?[/quote]It tastes like cheesy gooey rice - my whole family loves it whenever I make it, cos we love cheese! If u are adventourous u can have different variations, like adding seafood or pumpkin etc.

Can cook coq au vin. Basically it's chicken stew in white wine. My family favourite.

Dont have to use a a lot - maybe 3/4 - 1 cup (I use the ikea kids cup for measure) of white wine. Sometimes I cook the chicken over the stove. Other times, I roast the chicken in white wine in the oven.

1/2 a bottle can go a long way.

If your kids love pasta, can use white wine to cook :

                  spaghetti with bacon and basil
                  spaghetti carbonara
                  alfredo sauce

I love using white wine for cooking. It’s so versatile!!

Red wine goes best with bolognese sauce. Makes the flavour more intense.

                    This is timely.

Plan to cook spaghetti with salmon+ham for a dinner this week.

This is super tempting. Maybe I should buy some white wine too!
