:? So is it ok for a mother to wear bikini when swimming with her sec 1 boy?

If they are at the beach, swimming pool, cruise..., sure why not? It's in a right setting and place.

so at home cannot and pool can? :?

what if stay at penthouse or landed property, and want to sun-bath at home?

or what about if stay in bungalow and got private swimming pool beside the house? :scratchhead:[/quote]will you be in bikini whispering Victoria's secrets? 😉

This is just me lah.... but I guess if one is at the beach (inc resort, seaside, coastal area...) and pool (inc public pool, private pool, condo pool, mansion pool, bungalow pool, semi-D pool, kids pool, wading pool, cruise pool... and all other swimming pools encompassing), then I feel that swimwear (2-piece bikini, tankini, one-piece) is appropriate.

But for bra and undies, or briefs, just feel that it's not so appropriate to walk around in at home in front of the kids, esp if they are of opposite sex and hitting puberty.

Guess different strokes for different folks. Maybe I'm being a prude. But if I were to stay in 2-piece by the pool all the time, I might end up looking like a prune!! :rotflmao:

            😉

              Just curious....

If a girl wears bikini and walk in Holland Village, and another girl wears bra and panties.... Who will get booked by the police for violation?

              :siam:

Janet... i know we can't tell you what to do in your own home, but really not so nice lah. Your son is already Sec 1. Your house is not a swimming complex leh. And besides, if your hubby were to walk around in his briefs, will you mind? esp since you have a young daughter in the house too.

For this I go more with social norms. In Singapore, not so okay. In France, totally ok. The main thing is the social norms and my children's comfort zone. And of course there are different kinds of bikinis, from conservative cut to skimpy ones. I now wear skorts for swimming. I don't feel comfortable wearing too little in front of the swimming coach. I think they feel the same way too. When it was just grandmothers watching the kids, they were shirtless. When i started appearing, the coaches started wearing swimming shirts.

My boys are starting to yelp over Miranda Kerr's clothes in Mango catalogue. They go \"yetch, she's not wearing a bra!\" and throw it away in the dustbin. Realizing that they are becoming more aware of dressing and sexuality, I take care to cover up more so as to not create any awkwardness for them. As they get older, I am sure this will change again and the line of appropriateness will be redrawn a few times.

Hubby goes shirtless at home only if there is no one else around. Even at the swimming pool, he will put on a shirt once out of the pool. I will feel uncomfortable if FIl goes shirtless around me, and he has never done so.
