Hey no worries, I m also not sure if she still can accept new jobs. Though there seems to be a recession last year but the last I heard of her was that she’s extremely busy. I guess recession or not, people still want their house to be cleaned.

definitely. in fact, if recession and the women need to go out to work, all the more need to hire part-time maid to come in and clean the house. its definitely a more efficient way of managing our time. even as an SAHM, i wouldn't want to spend all my time cleaning the house vs spending the time wisely with my dd. i told my dh if i spend all my time cleaning the house, i might as well hire a maid instead of wasting my career right? he agreed right away

mine also but i usually give a bit extra. if 3hr i give $40. if 4hr i give $50. usually round off cos easier to give the money like that..

sometimes I feel the extra $10 (50 vs 40) makes alot of difference in their work attitude! Well, at least it does for my PT maid!

I remember last time I pay her $30 for 3 hours but she don’t work full 3 hours because she’s fast worker. She usually completes in 2 hours time and leave. I m fine with it but this was like 5 years ago!!! Now the rates could be higher.

wow that's fast! but what's the standard? if so fast may be not very clean? but so long as u r fine with the standard then ok.

i'm also not particular abt the timing she takes. certain days not so many clothes to iron, she may leave a half hour earlier.

and actually mkt rate is still very much $10 per hour. just that some of us dun mind paying a bit more just to get the better ones around. there are many around who cleans but breaks things (and dun tell the owners :!: ), or standard is too poor for us to accept.

i know a fren pays her part-time maid $50 each time she comes (once a week) when she's not home. and the maid will settle everything. there was even once the maid took her own initiative to iron the bedsheet and make the bed for her when my fren forgot to put back the bedsheets after washing! i tot that was real great service!

another fren had one also good. took initiative to buy the detergent, washing liquids whenever they run out. sometimes never even collect money back from owner. a bit \"kui1 ben3 sheng1 yi4\"? :?

I seriously need to get a part-time maid very soon :?: , now that my tummy is getting bigger day by day. Am into my 2nd trimester ... very soon, I wont be able to bend & stretch to reach all the corners...
