Planning for June holiday activities
-
Currently my hubby’s plan is to bring the kids for a short cruise. Besides Malaysia, which country / cruise is kids friendly? I heard Korea & Australia have a few nice theme parks/places for kids to visit.
I’m going to sign up my kids with badminton & sports camps. Can try signing up robotics workshops. My boy just finished two beginners’ robotics workshops. He loves it. -

hi
Would appreciate if someone could provide advice where should a family with Primary School kids + maid go for holidays this June? Seems a bit short of ideas now as we want to avoid hot weather but can only afford a couple of days. We’ve been to the usual popular destinations, thanks -

Should probably keep track of the new bird flu developments in China, in case things take a turn for the worse. That would likely impact travel, if you recall our experience during the SARS period. Maybe take breaks nearer to home, eg. Malaysia, Batam or even Bali?hi

The last time we went Bali in June 2 years ago, it felt cooler then Singapore, probably because of the sea breeze. It just did not feel as humid as Singapore.
My kids enjoyed Bali. Older ones (14 and 12 then) loved the water sports and white water rafting. Ayung river is pretty safe esp since June is dry season. The rivers flows much faster during the wet season. I've personally tried it during diff seasons. Younger kid (5) enjoyed the kids club activity at the Westin which was very varied, including, setting up Balinese dance and festivals, kite making, playing Balinese instruments etc.
Our whole family enjoyed the beautiful beaches, flying kite on th beach, building sand castles etc. We did not visit any temples or do any sightseeing, but the kids still said that they did not have enough time.
So kids of all ages can enjoy Bali.
This June, it is staycation at Sentosa for us since we don't want DS1 who will be taking his O's to be distracted.

my boy is taking his psle this year so not going away for june holidays. last june we went gold coast to take advantage of the cold weather which was really nice. he enjoyed all the theme parks, catch-a-crab, glow worm cave and outback performance which was really outstanding! the fruit farm was too boring for him and we only went around on a tractor, no fruits picking.
planning for a staycation at sentosa this june as his birthday falls in june. likely getting the water theme park package. planning to select festive holiday as the family room looks fun with the loft bed! anyone has stayed at festive before? is it good?
planning his other activities for rest of the month. already made booking for act 3 international drama program as he enjoys speech and drama. last december i signed him up for all three robotics program at CTW, he had fun, but i think they are more or less the same so not likely to let him go for it again this time. hoping to let him try rock climbing, so i posted to look for other kids to form a group at kinetics climbing! if he does it alone, wouldn’t be so fun. please let me know if anyone is keen.
that’s two weeks of activities done. still deciding on the other two! -

We stayed at Festive Hotel family room 3 years back and liked it a lot. I've booked another 2 nites at Festive again this June for our staycation. We plan to do the whole works this time, USS, Sea Aquarium and the water park :). But since we just did Universal Orlando last dec, we are likely to just do USS selectivelymy boy is taking his psle this year so not going away for june holidays. last june we went gold coast to take advantage of the cold weather which was really nice. he enjoyed all the theme parks, catch-a-crab, glow worm cave and outback performance which was really outstanding! the fruit farm was too boring for him and we only went around on a tractor, no fruits picking.

So many parents here send kids for holiday programs. I for one have never done that with any of my kids ever at all, all these years and my DS1 already 16....hahaha -
