I loved my lg top load washer. Used it for 8 years, broke down last yr. Since it lasted 8 yrs and didn't give me any prob at all for the past 8 yrs, I decided to buy lg again, the one with 10 yr warranty on motor. I fell in love with it immediately. Less noise, less vibration, uses less water and no more sending my queen size comforters for dry clean. No regret at all even though it is more expensive. Btw I did not get anyone to do the demo, it is user friendly.[/quote]Hurray! My LG front loader arrived and I have started using it for a few days! Got lots of accumulated laundry since old washer conked off. Yes, it is user friendly. Can just read manual and start using. Pretty quiet and very little vibration - sings a tune when it's done. :rahrah:

While one could easily operate it without a demo, it was useful to have a demo cos the person who came is also a technician so he also does a rough check on the machine to check for stability etc. plus of course, he runs through the programs and answers the questions. First time demo is free.

Now, I'm adjusting the amount of detergent - needed to reduce cos less water used I suppose. Plus trying to see if can do without or reduce the use of laundry bags. I used lots of laundry bags previously cos I didn't like the clothes being stretched too much with a higher spin rpm - could get worn out faster. However, realized that the laundry bags now get entangled with each other due to the 6 motion wash in LG washer - so probably impedes the washing effectiveness.

I previously had 2 Aristons. 1st one lasted 8 years, second one 5 years. Now I use LG Model WD-10481TP, 7.5kg and I am very happy with the model. It's coming to 4 years. It has hot water, extra rinse, prewash, baby care option and a quick 30 for emergency wash. Came with 2 Yr warranty and we paid some extra to extend 1 more year but so far never used the warranty.


We figured no point paying so much for European brand anymore as they do not last like they used too. If my LG can last 5 years, that would have met my expectation. Any longer is a bonus.

Is Ariston good? where does it made from?

My Ariston dryer ( about 3 years old ) was made in United Kingdom. Not sure where the washing machines are made in.

Hi, I’m new user to Front load and just bought Bosch 7kg. The salesman told us that Front load 7kg = Top load 10kg & Front load 7kg=cloth only and Top load 7kg=water + cloth, which means the Front load can have more cloth to be washed, is that trure?


Last night I have my 1st wash with eco-Prefect function, it took 3h++ to complet the cycle. For sure it save alot of water, but for electricity I don’t know . . . 3h++ used. The saleman keep on promo the speedPrefect function which only needs 1h but he does not tell us that only can load 5kg (indicated in the manual), so now have the feeling of cheated. They also didn’t mention of any demo of machine

After using, I then realised that I don’t know how to check whether the machine is full loaded or overloaded. Is it as much as I can put into the drum until reach the "top" ? If using Top load I don’t have this problems, I can easily remove any extra clothing . I also don’t know much of det’g powder should I use. Currently I’m using TupperClean Laundry Concentrate, the box indicated 1/2 spoon to be used and add more if needed. How to check , can’t see the water , not like Top load.

I think you need to check with Bosch service line, on the correct program to use. Different machine, different program and function. Update us here ok?

I’m also checking on the appropriate program to use. However, quite happy with LG service so far, they are sending demo person down to check and advise again.

I’m no expert, but this is how I decide how much detergent to use. I don’t use tupperclean, never heard of it. Front load machines need to use low suds type, liquid or detergent powder, formulated for front load.

Usually I use the directions on detergent pack as a guide. Eg, since my machine is for 8 kg, then 1/2 load is approximately 4 kg. If detergent pack says 4 kg use 1.5 spoonful of detergent, then I use that amount for my 1/2 load of clothes and put in compartment of washer. If too much detergent, the suds will come out of the water outlet pipe (so monitor that pipe) or clothes will feel soapy after wash, then reduce accordingly. If not enough detergent, then clothes might not feel or smell clean. For my LG washer, i can see a little bit of soap suds at the door whilst washing so I also use that gauge. This is what I did for my LG washer. Demo guy said amount varies with different people and detergent type so hard to comment on how much exactly to use.

Don’t know whether this method is correct, but hopefully you find it helpful… Good luck.

With regards to loading your machine, you fill the tub 2/3 full of dry clothes to consider as full load. That will be very comfortable for machine to handle.

Buy Persil or Spin detergent for front loaders. I also like to add a capful of laundry sanitiser to kill germs and use warm water wash option to clear the oil from sweat in the clothes.

Give your machine a wash once in a while with baking soda and vinegar to clear off soap scum inside.

When we were shopping for a washer, we understand from the salespersons that the extended warranty from Best Denki is not as comprehensive as others.

My washer came back, working fine now. Best Denki extended warranty covers my washer’s mother board, so I did not have to pay for anything. I don’t know how much the mother board would cost.


Best Denki extended warranty is a contractor that is enagaged by Best Denki. They are not LG company staff or LG appointed contractors.

I don’t know if it’s a LG thing, I can’t seem to get the gunk completely out from behind the gasket. There is a slight smell.
