Only called for interview...no news on whether accepted or rejected yet...Jav:
Hi Voo Voo, did you get into the NYPS PV? The school should have notified all parents. Mine is obviously a rejection notification.
Does NYP inform that you are selected for PV via phone or letter? They said everything will be finalised by end of the year, but I din receive any call. So does that mean rejection letter?
You mean you were not called for interview and also did not get rejection letter/email? :? -

Hi,
I am new to this website …
Would like to enquire about phase 2A1.
My hubby is an old boy and my son will be in the phase 2A1. I am wondering where do I find the info about the quota for phase 2A1? cos there’s still potentially balloting for this phase is it?
If yes, what is the quota allocated for it? any idea?
I tot phase 2A1 sure can get in, is that true? how come there was this rumour that they may still not get into the primary school. -
Phase 2A1 is for old students who joined alumni, Phase 2A2 is for old students without joining alumni. So if your husband does not join alumni, you will need to register under Phase 2A2. Your so called "Quota" is actually the no of vacancies left after Phase 1 or possibly Phase 2A1. Of course there is still potentially balloting for Phase 2A but based on current statistic, it is a confirmed place for your son.

Thanks Happygolucky!
So the quota means that if alot of places are snapped up in phase 1, then say they are left with 100 places and there are 120 people who are old school boys/girls who are Alumni, then there is a balloting going on.
Otherwise there is no balloting for this phase right?
There is no such thing as allocating 50 places for Phase 2A1 and if there are 52 Alumnis children, then there is a need to ballot right?
cos it’s quite unclear … i heard in recent years, there were parents who were old boys/girls and who did PV did not get their child into Nanyang Primary … so I wonder if I have to look at backup plans. -

As far as I know, there is no ballot for Phase 1 & 2A. Even if demand is more than supply, then the sch needs to create more vacancies. Thanks Happygolucky!

But it has never happen as there are past data n records on the potential demand. This is done ahead of time so as to guage the # of PV and grassroots to recruit for Phase 2B, which is subjected to balloting -

Thanks hmsg! So I should look forward to planning to enrol my son there unless things changes drastically in the next few years. He's turning 4 this year ..... and cos I heard that parents plan way in advance ... so got me started to at least be informed of my choices.
Your kids is currently in NYPS? -
Anybody knows what to pack for P2 on Monday? :?
Thanks! -
Dear hmsg,
If you refer to the MOE website, the phrase "All children registered under this phase will be given places" only appears in Phase 1. Hence, those registered under Phase 2 have no guarantee place, technically speaking. However, supply has been been more demand, so no balloting known for Phase 2. TO be more kiasu, pay a bit to be on the alumni, then you would be in Phase 2A1.
Dear Ze,
If I’m not wrong, those parents you known were old boys/girls are those probably those come from the affiliated secondary school(i.e NYGH) but not from Nanyang Primary. So need to do PV to come under Phase 2B, where balloting will take place. -
Does anyone have experience with the String Ensemble at NYPS? I heard there is an audition to get in, is that tough? Especially the sight-reading part, is it really difficult? Also, how often do they practice, especially near competitions?
Any insight is very much appreciated - very important to me to decide if I should sign up my kid for the audition. Thanks!!
