Induk said their ratio of trainer to students is rather small like 1:10.The fee I heardnis $140/mth.CC is very big group in which about 30 to 40 students.Fee quite affordable like $$45 for a term.

Exactly, but here is also something else, smaller group are more focus so they will likely attend and pass grading every 3 months, those in CC like B Batok East, that regular coach could have no time to coach your kids due to big class, end up grading every 6 to 9 months instead of 3, which means more revenue to them. So they think why not?

But if you could find a CC with lesser students and regular coach whose main aim is to help student get those belts on a regular basis, go to Bukit Timah CC. It is cheap, still under STF, the coach is a down to earth guy who will not ask your kids to buy unnecessary equipments, unlike Bukit Batok East CC.

For those who just wanna do TKD as a sport but not martial art, by all means read above would help.

For Induk, I give you this analogy, consider STF as NTUC, Induk and other Korean club as NTUC Finest, those clubs at CC as NTUC Fairprice, and clubs at RC as Cheers 24hrs. They are each different in price, ambience, operations, but they are still reporting to NTUC at One Marina or rather STF.

White belt to yellow tip grading is still 3 step skipping and turningkicks forward/backward. Any school under STF should suffice, unless you needed fancy waiting areas.

My opinion is not towards best TKD training school, but rather of a school not within the commercial franchise mentioned above. If those Korean coaches aren't tied down by STF, then it will be worth to consider. I know of one Korean school did just that and is banned!
Like that which TKD school would you recommend? :?:
Oh, TKD is always a sport as long as the schools are under
STF. For me, I want my daughters to learn TKD in original
martial art form, therefore Singapore TKD Academy (ITF) is the
one they go to for now.
errr...sorli so chim for me. So you mean Induk is a franchise?

Hi Peasant,

So what are the main differences between ITF & STF? It seem like most schools belong to STF & also the high class ones. :rahrah:

Main diff is ITF uses both hands and legs movement in balance
ratio, WTF focus 90% on legs movements. Competition between
ITF and WTF is always using WTF rules, cos ITF allows
hitting on face, head where WTF dun allow.

STF is backed up by PA, MCCY and Sports
Council. Clubs using STF to gain recognition
are common. I dun like the way STF claiming
they are the only recognised society for TKD.
That is discrimination. One hv to be in their
organisation long enough to open worm cans.

tkd helps my child to focus and improve on the movement

it not only help physically but mentally
also help to protect oneself of any attack. once a bigger sized bully tried attack my child using badminton racker. my child was able to block the attack, make the bigger sized bully down on the ground, sit on the big bully, hold the arms and shouted for help. w/o knowing all these steps, my child might be badly beaten up

hi all, i saw this school at upper thomson road. is this a new school?

http://www.hankuk.com.sg/
It started early this year. The main branch for this school, which has been around longer, is in Aljunied. I'm learning TKD @ the Thomson branch with my 9 year old daughter in a family class. My 4 year old son learns at a class for younger kids. The instructor's very good, esp. with kids. I'd recommend very much.
