Fairy:
I used to have such wonderful opinions of all IP schools since they're taking in the cream of the nation plus all their huge fees that they charged. First, I heard about DHS, then RI and now RGS. :yikes:mathsparks:
Reading kiasuson's post makes me wonder how can the school justify the steep fees. A case of wasting taxpayers money?
Talk about $$$. I discovered that RGS' worst.
Hope my son doesn't peek into this thread. It'll scare him before school starts.

Tao Nan is a mixed school. His class of 18 has 4 girls only. But for Art, PE and music, lessons are done with some mainstreamers, but I'm not sure how big's the class then.mathsparks:
from tao nan. he's very goody two shoes. guai guai de...except when he's gaming. how abt yrs?
woh . . .your boy is so lucky, only 18 classmates.
But I thought Tao Nan is a mixed school ???
My boy is from Nan Hua.
He has 29 other classmates when he is in the TWINNING class, attending lessons for Higher Chinese, Social Studies, P.E. and Music (main stream mix with GEP) and 21 classmates when he is in the Pure GEP class, that is studying English , Maths and Science - confusing right?
Strange that in Nan Hua, SS is conducted with the mainstreamers. I thought the GEPers SS is a much tougher program? -

You can start from here and go a couple of pages forward. It was a hot topic last year. But Stomp has already removed the entire topic.

Can someone tell me what it means by 4 sets of PE attire in the camp packing list? Does this include the set the boy is wearing? On Mon, they must bring one set of PE attire. On Tues, 4 or 5 (if including set he's wearing), so how many sets is needed? Thank you very much.
Second question: On Fri, the JRIC is held in the evening, are the boys dismissed earlier at 1 plus? or to stay till JRIC?
:? -
Sorry, i meant to post the query onto RI's forum, but lost my way. Could someone help me to move.

I think 4 sets include the one they're wearing on Tues. But just to be sure, son is packing 4 sets. As for Fri, think they'll get some details in school. Quite laychey to fetch him home, only to return few hours later.
Ermm, chief, I'm trying to merge this with RI networking topic, but Not Authorised leh. :? -

Huh? Not for my son's batch & before.(P6 in 2008)
Strange that in Nanyang, SS is conducted with the mainstreamers. I thought the GEPers SS is a much tougher program?
As NYPS has a lot of GEP students every year (>100), the GEP department, including the teachers operate independently/separately from the mainstream.
With the change in principal this year (ex-NH), there might be changes as Nan Hua Primary practises integration of GE with Mainstream students. -
Sorry Fairy, I meant Nan Hua. :booboo: have edited my post.

They are not actually known as main streamers, they are actually known as Twinning. The difference is that Twinning students are selected by MOE, these students just missed the passing marks for GEP selections so they are placed in Twinning. My son'a batch (2009 PSLE) is the first graduating batch with Twinning program. Although the twinning students attended the SS but they are non-examination subject for them. Unlike the GEP students, their SS results is in A, B, C, D or Fail ( something like this) . However, the GEP students need to pass SS else considered fail (the rules for GEP, you are very clear right so I will not say too much).
Strange that in Nan Hua, SS is conducted with the mainstreamers. I thought the GEPers SS is a much tougher program?
