[Bishan] Primary Schools
-
All SAP schools - Higher Chinese from P1 compulsory and no other mother tongues available. In Bishan, Ai Tong and Cat High are SAP schools.

Dreamgear:
There's no student care in the school itself. Most go by school bus or car. Some walk if they live nearby. There are many entrances so you can explore the best way. Besides Bishan MRT/ Bishan Road buses, you can consider Marymount MRT or take a bus to Marymount Road (just outside the MRT). You can then walk into Pemimpin estate (8-10 mins walk) and enter via the gate along Jalan Pemimpin. I see some Cat High bigger boys do that.lchunleo:
for catholic high school, is there any student care? do students walk to school or take bus from bishan mrt? any shortcut route? am living in buangkok, do anyone takes from buangkok to catholic high? thanks
Theres school bus service for primary school only.
If you can't accompany him on this long trudge every day, I suggest you get a school bus. -

Call bus 64814013, Mr Lim to check the bus rates.
Most kids go home/student care by school bus. Many also have parents and maids to fetch them. If you work full time and live far away, then best to get school bus. If you have someone at home to monitor him, then get school bus to send him home. If there’s no one at home, then get the school bus to send to the student care (some provide tuition). Most parents manage like that.
If you like student care, then I personally think it’s better to send to a student care nearer home coz it’s more convenient for you /DH to fetch him home on the way from work. -

After going through the forum I got kinda of confused & need some expert advise. I am staying near Ai Tong so just wondering since i m within 1km does it mean we qualify for Phase 2B? We are also joining the Hokkien clan as a back up but that does not mean we stand a higher chance it is?
Last but no least I am wondering if my DD don’t get a place after Phase 2C what happen next, thanks! -

Which phase you are in is not dependent on where you stay. After going through the forum I got kinda of confused & need some expert advise. You plan to join the SHHK as a backup. Assuming that you manage to receive the recommendation letter from SHHK, you will be in P2B. If not, you will be in P2C.
Since you stay within 1 km from Ai Tong, you will at least get to participate in the balloting. If your girl is unsuccessful in balloting, you will have to find another school that still has vacancies in P2CS. For this phase, the same rule applies = demand > supply ==> ballot. -
Thanks qms for the reply… sigh alot of things depend on luck though is near our house.

Yes, if you fail at Ai Tong, then try at Teck Ghee / Mayflower Pri/ Marymount Convent at Phase 2CS.
BTW, if you read the "All about Clan" thread, many SHHK members mentioned that just joining the clan doesn’t mean you will get the letter to apply at Phase 2B. You need to clock volunteer hours at SHHK for 2-4 years prior to the P1 registration.
As qms mentioned, you can still try the ballots at Phase 2C since you live within 1km. Slim chance but no harm trying especially if you don’t mind your kid going to neighbourhood schools. If you have a not too bad 2nd choice, would advise you to seriously consider the 2nd choice than to risk it at Ai Tong.
