My ds got the letter too. He wasn't too sure but said about 20 boys in his class got the letter. I think sji distributes the invitation letter to perhaps the top 20 boys of each school based on the latest CA1 results. Those without letters also can apply. It was just a general letter with sji letter head.

Do they usually group the dsa kids in a class that differentiate them?

During this year (P6) meet the parents session, dd's teachers kept emphasizing to parents that PSLE is just a national exams and a score for placement purpose. What matters to them most is the kids' attitude, desire to learn and learning behaviour which they felt that matters more as this will carry them through life. So PSLE to them is nothing. It's just a placement but for the kids to continue to do well, they must have the right attitude and behaviour.

My dd's school groups the dsa students who do not meet the school's cop into a different class. This is to give them more flexibility and attention in their studies, esp during competition periods.

SJI doesn't get hold of the results. They just ask the school to distribute to the top xx boys of the school. RI did the same thing, except the boys were invited to the school for a talk and tour.

I don't know whether it is common practice or not but I heard some girls schools will have some students invited to have tea with principal of some top girls school? I think I read somewhere in KSP.

Yes, i had posted that info in KSP b4 .....
Few yrs ago, my gal already received such letter/ Card of invitation...
What i was told was that....
The P of the Top Sch (for my gal's case is RGS) wrote in to some primary schs ( esp all girls' pri schs)
To request fr the sch, the names and particulars of their Top few students in the level ( based on sch results)
And the invitation letters/cards \"Tea with the Principal\" would be forwarded to the respective student....

For DHS, No differentiation....mix with the rest of the pupils...
But somehow....the class will know who are the ones who were dsaed,
And yes, their PSLE results usually 15-20 pts away fr COP...(refer to DSA via sports, PA, not academics)

dunman Secondary School or Dunman High School?

Don't know about the one who posted above, but I'm interested to know about Dunman High School. Any experience to share? Particularly under Music? Is there a difference if apply under Music or under music CCA? Or is it one and the same in DHS?

How about Victoria School? I notice it only shows DSA for sports? ;( No DSA for performing arts?

Just for your info, if you DSA by Chinese Orchestra into Duman High, they will ask you to learn from their teachers, it is a basic requirement. And their CO is so huge, only GOOD SENIORS are allowed on stage, all lower-secs are not, no matter how much better you are. So please think consider carefully:) P.S. There might be one or two exceptions.
