The strings just cut on the soft flesh. I tried learning. Can't take the pain. DS tried it too he also can't take the pain.

Apek.. there is a big difference...

Classical Guitar lessons comprise of practical & theory lessons,
you will need to learn the different techniques ie; Strumming/ picking,
musical note reading, different types of chords ie: major/ minor & etc....

Electric Guitar lessons comprise of mostly practical lessons.
Also covers the same techniques like the classical guitar including
how to maximise usage of your electric guitar sound. How to control the tone,
volume, effects on your amps etc.. (this is much harder to learn/louder &
expensive)

I suggest you just start with learning POP guitar. Covers the basic which
should be enuff to get your started.

Yup. Mighty mighty painful.
I learnt using both the acoustic and electric.
For practice sessions, the electric is less painful.
No need to put pressure on the strings... since the
sound can be amplified.... easy on the finger calluses.

Haha...like violin. Cannot keep long fingernails also... so no need to bother about going for manicure already. Pedicure only.

Guitar is easier to pick up because there're so many resources on the internet.

The type of guitar varies (structurally) depending on what music you'll play. For pop, you'd be looking at a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel-string_acoustic_guitar, which is brighter and sharper in sound.

Pop guitar will be fun, especially since you can play and someone else sing.
