Just Mama:
u all joining the PAACT?
You know, I was looking through the form, and it has all those questions about what your area of speciality is, how you can contribute, whether you have experience as PSG EXCO member, etc, etc. Hai.... that's why I hesitate to put in the form for myself. I don't mind being an ad-hoc volunteer, but not committee member, and I don't think I want to be class rep either.
I've all along been quite an active volunteer when my kids are in primary school, but mostly on ad-hoc basis, and in their CCAs as well. And I think i was one of the class reps in sec 1. But really, other than that, I've found that when the kids go to secondary school, they don't really need parents around for class outings or CCAs. So that's why I really hesitate to fill in that form, since I think the opportunities for ad-hoc volunteering services are rare in sec school. -

o i c .... thksJust to clear your doubt. PAACT is a registered entity. The $60 is something like membership fee. The $60 is not be a volunteer but rather to be a member of PAACT.
Of cos then, within PAACT, there will be some willing to be a volunteer. That is, at least, how I understand it

They didn't say what time school ends the whole of the 1st week, did they? I wanted to arrange for the Senior High tours for my girl, and hoping that the timing would not be too far off from the time that the Year 1s are let off so I don't have to make extra trip.

I remember the Dean, Mr Christopher Cheng said that they finish early on Tue & Thurs at 2.00pm. He didn't tell us about the other days leh.
But I check the NJC website & it said for JH1/JH2 it is 3.30pm. I copy & paste the FAQ section for you:
...........FAQ.............
14. How long is the average day for students?
Longer than the average day for secondary students, but shorter than the average day for JC students. School ends on the average at about 5:00pm for JH3/4 and 3:30pm for JH1/2. Students who take on additional modules such as electives, AEP and 3rd language classes will have an average of 3 hours more per week.
......... END FAQ ...............
The Senior High Tour is for students going to Sec 5 or anyone also can attend ? -
VitoRelax:
Yea, my daughter is sec 4 this year, so it's for the JC section.
