My P6 Kid is a bit over stress. Three structured programme per week after school fot two hours. After school, still homework for Maths, English, Chinese. (Science depends whether that day having science lesson). And i found out that she tends to make a lot of careless mistakes on her works. Dont know what the use of the schoolto push the kid to the extreme?

Maybe my girl is not mature enough because not all the children felt tired. Some of them still so energentic after the structured programme. Maybe girls were feel more stress than boys as they need to face their puberty
Son was very tired last year...he can literally knock out for few hours. Attending school is very tiring...can you imagine another 2-3 hours in this humid weather? That's not all, still have homework to complete. That's the way schools push during P6. It gets worse in July.

We are thankful that the school install aircon for all the p6 classes, so dd n classmates study in comfort. They stayed back for supplementary classes twice a wk each subject only 45min, some day there will be more hw but other day little.

Was grateful her cl teacher prepared her well on her oral, not so lucky though for her eng, as usual her eng teacher empower us or our tutor to do the job, she sures live up to moe moto, teach less n the children go back to learn more ....lol

Maybe my girl is not mature enough because not all the children felt tired. Some of them still so energentic after the structured programme. Maybe girls were feel more stress than boys as they need to face their puberty plus school works. Some of her classmates reflected that girls are so troublesome and will be so moody and tired on that particular days of the months.

What is this structured programme? Is it Supplementary session by the school?

I learned from Kiasu Parents Forum that the children will have more time at home if they do their homework in school. Of course cannot finish all but a little bit is better than nothing. Maybe your daughter can try to do some homework in school?

My son will do some of his homework in the class if I remind him (need to remind him a few times a week. I've became very naggy... sigh...). But I still cannot ask him to do his homework during recess or lunch time as he said he wants to play police and thief :faint: (so old and still wants to play catching???)

Been hearing similar story in different schools and either parents or the tutors have to do the teachers' job (to teach)...where have all the real educators gone to?

Why do things faster if the result is that you are given more work?
I think is quite common to assume children have lots of time and should do more. In fact, children get motivated to finish the work once they know that they can play or do anything that interest them once they finish that specific nunber of questions. But in reality, most children resist doing work or doing good work because they know the amount of work given to them is going to be endless...so no point doing them fast and well because more work will be given to them.

Can somebody please motivate me. Dont know why I feel so xian, so lax, no stamina to keep track of her progress. Nothing revised yet, just keeping the momentum of finishing school’s homework. SA looming near, I just don’t have the mood to get her started. How ah?

Good luck 8, the subject banding thingy sound like what my dd school practicing .... The irony is they gather the same ability children together n the better they are, they assign the \"not so competent teacher\" to teach ... So to me unless the calibre of teacher match ..else the programme is just another wayang the school put up to show :slapshead: . besides, honestly betw the 3 so call HA class in dd school, there isn't big gap to begin with so why the need to differentiate n create all these movement n waste of time, until now I am still :?
