DecJan:
according to the list in the folder given on 23/12, you are to wear a PE T-shirt with khaki shorts and to bring an extra set of PE attire and shorts, as well as a water bottle of at least 1 litre. Maybe bring along a pen and a notebook in case you need to note down something.

So I don't need to bring all the chemistry, bio, maths, chinese and whatever right? :? -

I don't think so. Do you have the orientation time table? If not refer to HCI website - it also shows the programme for 7th Jan. Sleep early and have a great day tomorrow getting to meet new friends.

DecJan:
they will know their class on 6th.
Hi, why they can only know their class on the 6th? is there a selection process during the orienation? -

Sorry, I have no idea. Initially I also thought they may do a selection during the orientation. But when I look at the programmes line-up, don't see anything to base selection on. Unless they are looking at personal qualities to group the kids :? I think they may already have the class listing done. -

Happy New Year to you too, DecJan. Ya, we were abt to rtn the signed copy of the letter of transfer to DHS when we received a call from HCI that our appeal was successful. After some discussion, we decided on HCI. After one big round, we're bk to HCI again. Initially, our 1st choice was either HCI or VS cos' not sure of IP. Hope this is the right choice.
Hi pinky88,pinky88:
Hi DecJan, my DS will be joining HCI. Hope we can share more.
Anybody knows what time sch usually ends in HCI (CCA & non-CCA days)?
Happy New Year. It's great to hear that our sons will be schoolmates. Didn't you accept DHS earlier? I was busy the whole morning bringing my son on bus trips to and from HCI and also from HCI to the MOE language centre at Ghim Moh. Is your son taking 3rd lang? You do know the schedule for 4th to 7th Jan, don't you? If not, you can see the time-table at HCI's webpage.
My DS only needs to take the bus home or to granny hse. My hubby or myself (when hubby not in town) will send him to sch. I did not bring him on bus trips but just drove according to the bus-route & show him where to alight. Hope he can manage today. It's pretty convenient cos' there's a direct bus home. But to my mum's pl, he needs to transfer bus, still ok cos' after transfer, only 3 bus-stops away from destination. Actually, there is a sch bus svc fm our hse to HCI @$95 but pick up at 6.10 am, a bit too early. My hubby wants to try this wk & see how's the traffic flow, then decide whether to let DS take sch bus. This morning, my hubby said PIE Adam exit traffic was heavy, mayb cos' NY Pri was there too. He will try Stevens Rd exit 2moro & see if its better.
My DS not taking 3rd lang. but he signed up for the Malay Special Prog. which is held in sch. Which lang. is yr DS taking?
Yap, we've the folder with all the orientation details. Tks. -

Bus pick up from my place is at 6.05am and costs $110. But DS refused to take sch bus (after having taken sch bus for 6 yrs). Hubby drove him to sch this morning, reached around 6.50am. Exit by Eng Neo, said traffic not too bad on the outer right lane, but more slow moving vehicles on the leftmost lanes, along NYGH,NJC,RGS as well as NYPS and MGS. But if hubby's out of town, DS will take public transport on his own. Quite a distance (about an hour's travel) He is taking Jap Studies as he is keen to try something new to him. Hope our sons enjoy themselves today.

Can i check with you whether I made the correct decision.
At first in the S1 form, I ask my kid to put in Malay Special Program. The reason is this can get 2 bonus point deduction when applying for JC.
But when my kid got into IP program, we decided to drop out bcos we thought the 2 points is not relevant since got into IP.
Is it correct to drop out ?
Thanks
