then will wear shower gloves to give them a good rub. Find this is the easiest way and can cut short my standing time by the sink.

        Funz:
Amazing. Your dinners are all like 5-6 dishes. How do you finish all the food? Mine are usually 1 meat/fish, 1 vege and 1 soup. That's it. If I cook stew, it will be that 1 dish with a staple.

        slmkhoo:
I don't bother with soup, and fish is counted as 'meat' in my home. And I would put the chicken, potato and veg in a single dish.
        TheAnswer:
I admire your dedication but I'm unable to do it. I already can't sleep properly now.
I kinda agree with the rest. You bend over and backwards to accommodate everyone in your house. :salute:

Like Funz and slmkhoo, we can live with one dish and a staple. Soups are extras. Maggi days are bonus. :rotflmao:
        Jennifer:
My hubby family is brought up with the mentality \"must have soup for meals\" (I cant do anything about it, though I myself do not drink soup).
I think (think oni arh)... our hubbies are also brought up being pampered with great food selection growing up, because moms those days do this best... loving via stomach... and they didn't hafta to do other things apart from take care of the children and the house.

Mine also brought up with super heavy few dishes breakfast with rice EVERYDAY which i cannot bring myself to do but you definitely have to applaud me for trying, yes i did try, much to the displeasure of my MIL cos she thought i was trying to vie for the champion's trophy with her. :siao:

But with the different kinda lifestyle and the pace of life that we now have... i compensate and/or compromise with him with other stuff šŸ˜‰ ... and to which over these last few years (after staying on our own) he says it is enough for him. He is happy with it. :please:
        Jennifer:
I am not dedicated, just doing my job as a stay-at-home-mother. That's why I posted earlier that once the children grow up and move out, I am going to hang up the pots and pans and apron :rotflmao:
I thought you just filed your income tax? You are a work from home mom too la. Anyway, i personally applaud you for your ultra dedication to go above your call of duty as a stay home mom. I am one myself but cannot afford to go thru all the trouble to go different places to get fresh produce and nor do we have the :moneyflies: to enjoy them once too often. More meat/seafood = more money. šŸ˜‰

You? Hang up your apron? :skeptical:

Naah.. you're gonna miss it too much. šŸ˜‰

Once a dedicated mom always a dedicated mom?
        Jennifer:
As for putting everything into a dish, this is also a big NO-NO in our family 🤷
        How about fried rice? :please:

Thanks for these foodie threads, Jennifer. It has brought all good moms together to share their versions (and one dad even brags an encyclopedia-full of recipes too) so I have more and more ideas of simple and of course, value for money (and time) dishes to whip up for the family. :please:

            Fried rice can šŸ˜„

Our pack of bamasti rice not finished yet. Also did not see your recommendation brand in Cold Storage/NTUC/ShopNSave here. I really want to try out your butter rice. Mmm, goddess in the kitchen :rahrah:

Tmr, going to fry noodles for lunch, this one can hv veg/meat/prawn/squid/egg cooked separately, then mix tge before serving.

The reason why rojak style is not accepted: my elder boy says cant savour the individual unique taste and flavour of each type of ingredient. 🤷 he eats like a baby - one type one time :heresmyfish: He is particularly resistant to cooking meat with fruits like sweet n sour pork with lychees.

Once I cooked pork chop with orange, it was well-REJECTED :rotflmao:

Yes I get what you mean.. like fruits shouldn't be cooked.. šŸ˜‚

Fruits, only to be enjoyed as it is. Au naturale.

I also like to boil yakon soup. Vege seller says can also add some lotus seeds into the soup. I also boil the same style as tinkfirst. They say Yakon soup is good for relieving cough.

Tonight not cooking, give my stove, pots and pans a break šŸ˜‰ šŸ•ŗ
Please share recipe for Yakon soup. I'm very interested.
