              1) Three numbers are written on a piece of paper. 1/4 of the first number is 10 more than 1/2 of the second number. The third number is twice the second number. The sum of the 3 numbers is 400, what is the first number?

              2) A frog jumps 6 cm. The distance it jumps the second time is 4 times the first… The distance it jumps the third time is 3/4 the distance of the second jump. What is the total distance of the 3 jumps?

              3) When a bucket was 1/7 filled with water, its weight was 5kg. The weight of the bucket was 23kg when water was filled to its brim. What was the weight of the empty bucket?

                    Hi,


                    What he/she trying to say is the strip can be divided into two right angle triangle.

                    Each of it has a height which is the same as the length of the smaller square.

                    And using 1/2 BH for triangle and multiply by 2 will get you the area of the strip.
