Luckily, my son doesn't annoy me most of the time. He knows I have low tolerance for any form of nonsense.

But u are a tutor leh? Got teach group also right? Then how u take it - if u are like what u say \"low tolerance for nonsense\"? Teachers/tutors, to me, need high level of tolerance/patience.

I only take P5 to Sec 4 classes for group tuition. I do not accept younger students for group tuition because some of them throw tantrums in class. I cannot stand tantrums at all. For private tuition, 10% of my students are in lower primary.

For my group tuition, some students are not motivated no matter how I encourage them. Sometimes they refuse to do the worksheets during lessons. I have no choice but to feed the answers (it's not the right way to learn but the boss of the tuition center told me to teach in this way). If I can't finish the worksheets during the lessons, I will have another set of problems. Their handwriting is another issue. I'm not sure if you understand the problems. You need to try teaching 20 students of varying abilities in a class to know how it feels like.

For my private tuition, most of my students are very disciplined. I share with their parents if their kids give me trouble or are not paying attention. I also update their progress regularly. Group tuition I'm not allowed to talk to their parents. It's some tuition center policy.

My patience is reserved for the following:
                  - To help those who bother to help themselves
                  - To assist school homework
                  - To recap/teach concepts multiple times in different ways

                  My low tolerance for:
                  - rude behavior
                  - any half-hearted work
                  - arrogant behavior
                  - talkative students who disturb my class
                  - false accusations

Let’s not chat on this thread. Perhaps move to another more suitable thread?

Let’s keep this solely for supper.
