Hi…i want to know if there is any different between gan eng seng pri & zhangde pri as all my girl classmate’s parents are putting the kids there. One of the parents told me that zhangde forcus on chinese more. By hearing this, i’m a bit worry as my girl chinese is worse of the worse as she couldn’t speak & write properly.

Hi, I don't know what's ur definition of focusing more on chinese. Maybe as a gauge, at which level the various different schools offer higher chinese to the kids is your yardstick?

actually I want my girl to study any nearby school and let her develop her own & not stess her but my hubby don't like gan eng seng & that only left me with the only choice zhangde that made me worry as the school introdue more chinese as my girl is not good in the field & in the end stress her out. ic... I can understand ur anxiety...... not easy to choose school..... zhangde was quite hot for last yr....... esp when it has a convenient location as well

Zhangde is not a SAP school. Neither is GESPS. Hence, I would think both are comparable. You may use the PSLE results of Zhangde as a gauge for its standard:

% Passes for Standard CL

2012 = 93.2%
2011 = 96.7%
2010 = 95.3%
National = 97.3%

Quality Passes in Standard CL

2012 = 74.3%
2011 = 75.9%
2010 = 73.8%
National = 80.7%

For your information, GESPS offers HCL to students from P2 onwards. Hence, it may be a misperception that Zhangde's Chinese standards are higher than that of GESPS.

Frankly speaking, you should choose a school that is near your house. You will find out how convenient it is when the child reaches higher levels. Between GESPS and Zhangde, academically, there is no difference. Perhaps you should look at the balloting history and choose one that you have a higher chance of getting into, unless you want a specific CCA that is offered by one school but not the other.
