I was browsing this thread and realised both the old and new Principals were my JC teachers.


Mr Tony Tan taught me F Maths and is indeed a high flyer due to his academic achievements and abilities. Not only was he an effective teacher, he also showed strong leadership qualities and organisational skills. His personal charisma always packed the lecture theatres. A rare gem who thinks out of the box.

As for Dr Chin, I recognised him through his Chinese name. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was the Chinese teacher under LEP scheme. As he didn't teach me, I'm not very familiar with him but I've heard from friends he's very academically driven and a perfectionist.

Yes. Both of them had taught in Hwa Chong Junior College. Dr Chin was head of Chinese Dept.

And nope, no aircon unless using the container cabin for lessons.

Heard from a parent who's child is going Tao Nan next yr, that some of the classrooms are airconditioned. Not sure if they are cabins you are referring to...and heard that the airconditioning is sponsored by parents...true?

The classrooms on the ground floor are air-conditioned bec they are near the main road, so to cut down the noise level I think and the top floor classrooms converted from computer rooms are also air-con. No lah, we don't pay extra for air-con, it's not by choice, it's by chance the kids are in that classroom. But teacher told us last year that some kids are very sleepy mid day bec it's very comfi with air con on, hahaha

I sent my boy to school yesterday and stayed to hear Dr Chin address the P1s for about 1/2 hour. He was very approachable and could capture the little kids' attention with some games as well as role play on stage. He imparted some values in his talk in ways that the kids can relate to.

I am quite impressed... think tao nao is in good hands too! :celebrate:

Heard about existance such a letter .... asked my DS he said don't have; checked his bag also don't have ....

Yes, the form was given on Tuesday. I think the first practice session is 21 Jan 2010, 10.30am.


Need to pay something like $90 for 12 sessions.
