      The Right Equation:
      2Transformer:

      I have 2 questions that need your help. Please advise.

      (2) Janice collected a total of 152 Spain and Macau stamps. She gave 2/3 of the Spain stamps and 2/5 of the Macau stamps to her brother. In the end, she had 72 Spain and Macau stamps left. How many Macau stamps did she have at first?

      this qn's concept is \"forming & solving 2 simple equations\"

      Thank you!

      Btw, can you show me the model approach as I have difficulty to explain it to my son. I really appreciate it.

        Note: A typo-error in the slide, it should be 32 instead (not 36).

                    hi

                    would like to confirm on the below working, my DD complain the solution halfway

                    Jane have $12 more than Linda and $46 more than Tom. They have a total of $500. how much money has Jane?

                    3U->500+12+46
                    why add? I thought is minus since we are finding equal 3U

                      Hi,

                      Because,

                      Jane = Linda + 12 = Tom + 46

                      U = Jane
                      U = Linda + 12
                      U = Tom + 46

                      Then,

                      3U = Jane + Linda + Tom + 12 + 46
                      3U = 500 + 12 +46

                      Regards

                        hi

                        why not

                        3U = 500-46-12? I see some other type of qns, they use this method
