Sailing…of course it’s dangerous. But she’s always keen to go for these outdoorsy activities, and we could only pray that she keeps safe. Inwardly, we’re proud of her for choosing sailing…which most girls would shun. Needless to say, after that 2nd incident, I had plenty of that "I told you so!" moments.

      Infocomm…from tkgs webbie:

Students will be equipped with knowledge of various digital media platforms and also the skills to produce the necessary content. The programme will cover about 30 lessons of 2 hours each, covering the main modules on digital video, Photoshop editing and Flash animation.

From the programme, students will learn to use basic Photoshop knowledge to do editing of photos and understand how to use the program Adobe Flash CS3 Professional and from basic animation. Additionally, at the upper secondary level, students will be trained to create basic video production through various camera techniques in addition to understanding the Pre-Pro Production Process

Working closely with the training arm, the school aims to work out a meaningful programme to create a pool of highly motivated young citizen reporters. Equipped with technical and communicative skills, they cover events and happenings that students can relate with be it within the classroom, school or society.

Sounds interesting. And they teach you all these for free ?

These courses if taken outside will be quite expensive ...

Sailing courses are not free. I dont remember if it was even subsidised..and we had to buy all those gear too! But IT courses, I think it's subsidised. Best to check with school.

Haiyah, even my kids, who are in performing arts, they have to pay a co-payment fee of like S$100 a year. Ok, lah - not so expensive considering it's per year and can use edusave. Altho' one of my boys was picked to learn an instrument and the school paid for a private instructor for him. Yup, no need to pay extra.

ok, jokes aside. my girl joined sailing in sec1/2..took part in various competitions, then after a close shave in sec2 (first she was knocked on the teeth by the blah blah of the optimist, then her boat was swept off course...scary enough), we got enough reasons to pull her out. And she switched to Infocomm, easy for next 2 years.

So, in addition to putting in >100 hours of cip, she managed to get a1 for her cca..which means 2 bonus points.
Like that, I'm going to put my daughter into library. Air con, can read books, just need to stack books, no sun, no rain, no hard training.... My older daughter suggested that...

2ppaamm, library as cca or cip? cip in community lib must queue up hor. dont say i never warn you. and they always make you shelf books, and if you girl has sensitive nose like mine, you can kiss the lib cip goodbye.

library as cca? no competition how to chalk up points? Aiyah, yours moving on to uni soon, then don fret too much.

O, like that ah... You see, I'm trying to plan an escape route. My daughter has to train 6 times a week with the club, but the school CCA takes so much time, and during the training, she has to train the rest. Don't mind that, but really no time...

During competition months, she trains 9 hours with the states team daily, really have no time to go for school training. I know she will get lots of points for state representation, I just need a very easy CCA, which one har?

Also, if she does not take the CCA she represents country in, will they still give her the points?
