      Hi its my first time in Kiasu Parents.

      Need help on a P5 Math question:

      1. Classes 5A and 5B have the same number of pupils. The ratio of the number of boys in 5A to the number of boys in 5B is 2:3. The ratio of the number of girls in 5A to the number of girls in 5B is 7:4.

      a) Find the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls in 5A.
      b) If there are 15 fewer girls than boys in 5B, how many pupils are there in 5B?

      Thanks much! :xedfingers:

              5A:5B
              Pupils n:n
              Boys 2:3
              4:6
              6:9
              make the number of pupils same

              Girls 7:4
              Pupils 7+6=13:4+9=13
              9u-4u=15
              5u=15
              1u=3
              13*3=39 pupils in 5B

                  Hi, this is how you solve the question...

                  5/5-1/5=4/5(left after sold books on Sun)
                  4 units->40
                  1 unit-> 40 / 4=10
                  5 unit-> 10 x 5= 50
                  50+ 560=610
                  He had 610 books at first.

                  Regards :rahrah:

                      Total weight
                      15 + 29 +3/5 + 1/4
                      44 + 3/5 + 1/4
                      3/5 = 600gram
                      1/4 = 250gram
                      Total = 44kg 850 gram
                      31 x 1.41 = 43.71
                      Balance = 44.85 - 43.71 = 1.14kg

                      Money collect from 31 packet = 31 x 7.20 = $223.20
                      Money collected from balance = 1.14 x9 = 10.26
                      Total money = 223.20 + 10.26 = $233.46
