That's unfortunate but wishing your child all the best - there's still hope for HCI yet

But I'm curious as to whether schools send our rejection e-mails? OR do we just assume that if you don't get a callback, that's the end of the road? -
My boy was dropped off and was on his own at RI for the Science test. He managed to get this rough figure from source. That’s is to say English, Malay, Maths and Science domain in attendance made up about 5% of the total application for RI academic domain.
It’s sometimes good to let our kids be independent to explore and experience. They will sniff and find something. I wasn’t there with him or his father. If the source is reliable, I trust my son to ask different questions to verify his understanding. -

The 5% doesn’t sound quite right. I think there were at least 500 kids that went for the test. If 5%, that would work out to be at least 10k applications, just for RI Academics. I doubt there’s that many.

Yeah, there were so many children at RI for the tests. It's hard to believe that those form 5% of the cohort of applicants. It may be more plausible (though just a guess) that from that group, 5% will be selected for an offer (or perhaps undergo a final round of interviews etc.).

I don't think RI filter anyone for round 1. I believe that everyone who applied received invitation to sit for trial. For academics - my DS number is #6XX, might have more than 500 attended the trial exam. For Sports domain that my DS applied, they did mentioned that they invited everyone to take the trial. There will be a second trial this Friday, for the shortlisted kids. Good that RI let everyone to have chance to take the trial.

It tends to vary by school. Some will do the above; others will inform in Sept, at which point it was already obvious...

This year may be different; due to the shortlisting and interview phases perhaps there will be more definitive updates along the way. Or schools could change the standard operating procedure as well...
