My girl went for Math and Science... Math and Bilingualism had like 120 girls for each domain at the auditorium whereas Science had 16 girls in the science laboratory (or thwre are 2 different science laboratory) at a sitting (i presume there are various sitting and timing for science domain too). The selecrion tests was tough. So those girls that can get through to the interview rounds must be really 👍🏻! All the best!!!! It was a good eye opener and experience for my girl.
Anyone went for the NYGH leadership selection test on Saturday? How was it like? Were there a lot of candidates? Thx -
hello has anyone received shortlist email for dsa leadership rgs today?

If a child is accepted to a school from the DSA exercise via an academic domain (eg Math or Science), what is the expectation of the school?
For sports, it would be clearly to participate in the training and competition of that sport.
But for academic? Min subject score? Training for Olympiad type competition?
Any feedback and inputs? I would imagine it differ by schools?
Any chance of the kid failing to meet expectation? (Secondary is very different from primary). Any repercussion when that happen? -

Please double check with the specific schools that your child has applied to. In general I believe:

a) To enter the school the student needs to obtain AL20 or better (for IP programmes), no minimum subject scores. On an on-going basis, I don't believe there will be any minimum subject scores (related to the domain itself) to stay in the school. Instead, the student just needs to meet the school's annual promotion criteria (which may include minimum scores for certain subjects ,but this would be a common requirement and not specific to any DSA domain).
b) Expectation of the school could be to participate in the domain activities in Years 1-4. Probably varies by school but could include Olympiad trainings/competitions, additional enrichment activities/modules/subjects, and/or certain subject/academic programmes in upper secondary (admission may not be guaranteed though).
If your child gets a CO/WL, you should have time to clarify what is required in the Sept-Oct timeframe before preference submissions are due. -

Besides SG_KP1 asking u to check up with the respective schools that u are interested in, nowadays,

a lot of IP schools already have
\"self auto-detection\" implementation strategy within their own school ground premises, to filter out
and be ready to \"catch\" those pupils anytime, who cannot cope. There is a catchment existing already, so it is still safe, all right, to join IP schools. The \" safety net \" to \"catch\" them do exists, after all !
At the end of Sec 2,
IP students who can't cope, for whatever reasons,
eg.
Addiction to gaming
or
to some other puberty teenagers' newly encountered problems / influence set in , etc.
will be identified by their IP school management, and be routed just in time, to join the two years of (Sec 3 and Sec 4) O-level preparatory class.
Eg.
(Hwa Chong and Nanyang Girls High), both have these Sec 3 \"SIP\" classes, for \"exiting-channelled-out-IP into routed O-level formed\" class students.
After their O-level is over,
these students can choose to study whatever their (passion or calling) is,
ie.
whether to join (another JC or Poly or go overseas), when they turn 16 years old.
Out of so many IP schools around, only Total 4 IP schools don't implement this \"catch\",
ie.
(RGS / RV high / Temasek JC / National JC). The rest of the remaining (balance) IP-A-level destination bound schools : all do \"catch\" them readily ! -
Hello, has anyone heard from RGS for math and science domains?
