I think the issue is we only have total applicants / total spots. We don't have applicants and spots per each domain.
The interview we went to had 26 kids that day. I heard usually there are 2-3 spots available, let's say IP x1, O-Level x2. These are the odds I was expecting tbh. But if 10% is based on number of applicants, that would mean the number of places on offer could double or even triple. Our chance would be much higher. Fingers crossed 🤞
Here are some more stats. Quite frankly, they are all kind of useless but I'll type them anyways

2021 IP Applications: 12,874 (41% of Total Applications).
-->Number of Unique Applicants:
-1 application per applicant = 12,847 applicants
-2 applications per applicant = 6,437 applicants
-3 applications per applicant = 4,291 applicants
*Overall applications per applicant is 2.6 (IP + Non-IP)
Assuming 1,233 IP spots (1/3 of 3,700), the success rate for the corresponding assumed applicants above is 10%, 19%, or 29%.
Truth is, as of now the odds have already shifted based on the shortlisting process. Based on different domains and number of kids shortlisted, I think the odds for some domains within a school could still be < 10% (i.e. 10+ shortlisted per available space) or as high as 30%-40%. It all depends on how many the school shortlisted and how many they are likely looking to take in (+/-). And more importantly, it still comes down to the individual applicant.
Anyways, if the child is still in the game then they still have a shot. My suggestion is don't worry about the odds too much. There's nothing we can do to change them and as mentioned my view is that the average odds are not really applicable to most. Good luck to all! :rahrah: :rahrah: -

My DD received the invite for Leadership at Temasek Sec. She is a CCA leader and Peer Support Leader (since P4) in her school. (Not school Prefect). We had applied for TMS, SCGS (Secondary) and TJC, but received invite only from TMS. -
Just now received an update from NUSH saying they are still processing the results and the outcome will be mailed by 8 August 2022. They seem very well coordinated and it was extremely nice of them to drop this note i feel

Woah! With that kind of credentials, it's hard to believe that your DD will not get it. To top that, what are they expecting from the children?
