@phtthp
She is a SC in a local mainstream primary school. No community work outside school. Those who were shortlisted by SCGS - the gals had community experience? -

Don’t upset la.
Hi, for those who were shortlisted for SCGS (leadership), could you share your DD's profile? My DD's from a neighbourhood school. Her overall AL in P5 and P6 are 4-6 and is a head prefect. She won the edusave scholarship and eagles awards but was not shortlisted. Need closure. Thanks!
Got 180+ pri sch
One head and vice head prefect
Plus cca leader.
That’s a huge pool competing for leadership
Work hard for psle and hope she gets into her dream school. -
@skii,
If the criteria is head prefect/cca leader, then should get shortlisted. Just hope to get some clarity on shortlisting criteria from community platforms like kiasuparents because the school will not share the reasons. -

I'm quite surprised given your daughter's credentials. Did you call the school to ask? Perhaps they made an error?

Girls who have done \"Community\" external work outside school premises, stand a better chance, over & above just \"Eagles\" award, if you are to apply under \"Leadership\" DSA domain

I’m also surprised but it’s not the first case I heard. A boy who is a head prefect in a neighborhood school with AL4-6 also didn’t get shortlisted.

So I think you really need to standout in comparison with the other candidates. Maybe those that got shortlisted can share their kids profile. It would be a good closure for your kid. -

Did she get any shortlist from other schools under same domain?

Fattymum can try to call up SCGS, to inquire. But they may not reveal reasons why her girl not been short listed. But Fattymum can try asking SCGS : in that case, can give an example of a candidate's profile, who have been short-listed for \"Leadership\" ? From there, maybe she can tell what is missing

This is a very good question you have asked, magically.

Back then, 3 years ago,
my friend's daughter also have a similar profile, as Fattymum's daughter :-
also (head prefect + won Eagles awards). She applied for both (SCGS & Cedar Girls). In the end, SCGS rejected her, but Cedar Girls offered her IP (CO). -

Agreed. I don't think the school is obliged to disclose the reason for rejection but no harm trying. Of course, do it politely and see if they'll provide an explanation (and hopefully, a reconsideration). Sometimes, it may be better to write in to the school so that you can articulate your daughter's credentials. Things can get missed in a phone call (esp. if they are not keen to entertain) but at least you can write out your thoughts in an e-mail. Keep it short and sweet though

Good luck!!
