Hi parents, generally how many rounds of selection must the kid undergo for dsa academic? After the written and performance task, will there be round 2 for interview on another day? Thanks.
depend on which Secondary school, u refering to. Each school has its own unique way, of processing the entire DSA process. No standard answer.

      But,
if you are refering to Raffles Girls Secondary school for Academic DSA domain (Mathematics), then

Round 1 : take the subject (Maths) qualifying test

Those who did not do well in the test, game over !

Those who passed the test, will be short-listed to attend
Round 2 interview, on another day.
This was a \"group\" interview, together with rest of other P6 applicants, for the same \"Maths\" domain.

      This happened, 3 years ago.

      ======================≈=====

Anyway, u can always call up the school (you have DSAed) directly and ask them
      what's next,
since your kid have already attended the Round 1 Performance task test ?

Thank you for your well wishes, we’re now praying & waiting, it’s the final countdown 🙏

Totally agree that analytically NUSH seems to be the best fit, not under-fitting nor overfitting for my child’s persona/profile & passion; but all is in God’s Hand now.

I hope everyone will get good-fitting school for each kid, not a bad-fit and god-forbid misfit.

Wishing you and your boy the best for a positive outcome for NUSH!
I read your boy's impressive resume.
My boy is in RI Y3 and takes Computer Elective Programme. Though I can't be 100% sure, I don't think he is at your son's level.
I'm not sure what other schools you applied too but hang on k.. An ALscore of 9 is pretty good. He likely can still make it to TJC IP or ACS/VS/SJI O level program where he can switch to IP in later years.
NUSH also have Supplementary Intake Exercise (SIE) in Nov. So don't give up! Keep chasing!
Meanwhile, do targeted practices for his weak areas in EL and ML to lower his overall ALscore and to build a stronger foundation for IP/IB program.
        Again all the best! :rahrah:

              Your question posed, is vague.

Which \" Cca Audition \", are u specifically refering to ?
              related to Music

              Or

              related to dance ?

              Answer
              =======
              Dunman High

              DSA for
(string ensemble + guzheng + other Chinese instrument played ) \"Performance Arts\" music related domain -

              Round 1 :
Initially, out of 20+ over short-listed candidates who have attended the Audition,

              eventually (finally),

only 3 candidates got short-listed, have a chance to attend
              Round 2 interview, with
              ( P / VP + music maestro).

              (DSA exercise )
Thank you very much. I am referring to the Performing Arts like Choir and String Ensemble. Wondering how many will be shortlisted for round 2 interview out of that 20+ auditioned in round 1.

So given so few gets shortlisted for round 2, does it mean those shortlisted should more or less be a CO unless interview goes very wrong?

                  Dunman High

                  1)

Anongst the \"String Ensemble\" (SE) talent specialization DSA applicants -

out of 20+ candidates short-listed for Audition (Round 1), where all these 20+ candidates played different kind of musical instruments, not just SE only,
                  only one candidate was invited,
to turn up for the interview.

                  2)
Amongst the \"guzheng\" talent specialization DSA applicants -

out of 20+ candidates short-listed for Audition, where all of them played different type of instrument, not just played guzheng only,

the same thing happen, only one applicant was invited, to attend interview.

                  ============================

And out of the 3 candidates who attended the interview, eventually one was rejected.
                  So, doesn't mean that

merely being invited to attend an interview is equal to a \"CO offered, on the way\". The interview is still afterall, a
                  \"make it\" or \"break it\" outcome.

What is the interview actually, for ?

                  To assess whether :-

                  3) candidates have what it takes, fit into Dunman High culture, school motto, or not ?

                  4) candidates can take the IP rigor, or not ?

If the panel of interviewers' conclusion feel that if one doesn't fit, then will be rejected.

Those who were successful, offered CO, however in the end, did not accept Dunman High CO, because concurrently, they also received COs from some other IP schools, as well. And they chose to go there, instead.
