…. hence nush first obvious choice, second njc and third Temasek JC maybe not sure(also not focusing on how hard it is to get into these schools actually but trying to find the best fit only and see how it goes)
more importantly trying to make sure i am not missing any good options.
Also being a co-ed school (boys and girls) is an important consideration
      School of Science and Technology?

I checked that one too, but seems thats the pathway to more of technical education, my son wants to go into research fields, thats why seeing the offerings in nush he is excited, he is like \"if not nush doesnt matter which school, rest all same to me\" , i am the one searching for option no.2 and 3 😂

It’s interesting and I am really keen to know more: Students start doing “research” at Seconday level at NUSH ?

Get to conduct lots of experiment, to learn the subjects? I mean to check “research” and “experiment” is being used interchangeably here?

ha ha i meant he want to pursue scientific research after schooling, as in at uni level
but yeah, nush seems to maximise the exposure during sec/jc years while in nush with stuff like below,
                https://www.nushigh.edu.sg/studying-at-nus-high/student-development/voyager-programme
                https://www.nushigh.edu.sg/studying-at-nus-high/the-nus-high-diploma/research-innovation-and-enterprise
                https://www.nushigh.edu.sg/studying-at-nus-high/the-nus-high-diploma/mathematics-and-statistics

he says he is interested in theoretical physics

Astar is working on quantum technologies and also nurturing quantum scientists:

                  https://www.a-star.edu.sg/imre/research-departments/quantum-technologies-for-engineering

Yearly Astar gives out science awards, to encourage and nurture aspiring researcher :

                  https://www.a-star.edu.sg/Scholarships/junior-college-and-polytechnic-and-secondary-school-students/a-star-science-award-upper-sec

Since Astar has plans to encourage and nurturing researcher, you may want to give it a try, contact Astar for help, for any advice for you child DSA. Maybe Astar will be able to share info on which schools they interacts often with. From there can deduce which other schools have or appear have, strong foundation in nurturing researcher?

yes yes, he is aware of Astar, he is also aware of this :https://www.quantumlah.org/
and also eyeing Germany for maybe further studies, switzerland CERN and what not 😂 (he is infact learning German for this reason ha ha, it started simply as learning another language, but then he found out those regions are the hotspots for this kind of stuff) :rotflmao:

but it never occured to me to ask Astar for help, thanks for this unique advice! :salute:
it might not go anywhere but no harm in trying 😂 we never know!

your child may make teleporting a reality. Then no need for plane/vehicle anymore , cut down emissions……
