I shared with the group earlier that i called NUS High this morning and was informed that the results were not out yet. (See earlier post). Not sure if they released anything since then though. Thanks.
Hi Parents,
Anyone know of any recent updates or anyone received NUSH round 2 email ? -

Yea ofcourse. If not, just get in by PSLE. 3-4 points are okay but not like 10 points different. But I think the schools also do their screening, can’t accept students who are too far off?
My DD says must atleast try for DSA in 3-4 points higher school....else what is the point.
I kind of agree.
If you get 84x4 you get 12 points. If you get 85x4, you get 8.
In my opinion, not much difference between the two students.
My elder child who is in dual track school also shared that some sports DSA students do very well, cos they study well to begin with, PSLE around cut off point. But some entered purely based on sports merits, those really struggle and teachers also cannot care much all the time. -
Hi, can anyone help advise whether RGS has DSA through Chinese Orchestra option/channel? Thanks a lot.

The school you applied to will receive your P5 raw marks, so they will be well aware of whether your AL12 is 84x4 or 80x4.

Does this mean if the coach is in that school then there is a higher success rate of DSA-ing into that school?
Although my child not in sport. But to give a fair judgement, not all dive into IP becoz of IP stream. It might be due to the coach the particular school is having. -

Finally received email from HCI for DSA Leadership interview. I talked to my kid don't put high hope on it. No matter what, let's focus on PSLE...
Hi, I 've been following this DSA 2023 from pg 1 til now, and not much parents share about their kids DSA application.
Kindly allow me to ask your opinions & thoughts, which IP schools shd my DS aims for his DSA Leadership ? RI, HCI, CHS, DHS or RVHS ? And what are the chances to get CO from these schools ?
Not sure if these schools also looking for others such as character, behavior, academics or sports as overall in term of selection?
3rdly, heard that the interview is very difficult as most of shortlisted failed at this stage, really ?
He studies neighborhood school, Vice Head Prefect & CCA Badminton Capt.(since P5).
Received school model pupil awards since P3, as well as MOE awards like Eagles, Character & Good Progress.
Last yr P5 scored overall AL8 (HCL=UG, both languages at border line of AL3). If not applying DSA and solely depending on his PSLE results, high risk to maintain AL8.
Last yr sch. picked to participate Innovation Program (2022 1st time opened to Pri level), Science Competitions (SPSO/RSO/VANDA/Science Busker), Math Competitions (SMO/PSMathlympics/MNOS) and Chinese (NCC).
But just won Bronze from SPSO. This yr so far PSMathlympics.
For CCA Badminton, Practicing his skills trained by his coach since P1. not much Badminton competitions due to
Covid (sad....). Last yr won 1st Team Placing (Tier-2 Doubles) at local event Junior Div Boy NSG. This yr, sch. team he played lost in Prelim. Rd Senior Div Boy NSG eventhough his doubles won throughout the games. Btw, his height now likes Sec student.
As I observed, applying DSA Leadership got better chance compared to DSA Badminton coz Badminton is a famous sport & expecting alot of kids who played better than him applying DSA Badminton so his chance to get CO very slim.
So far didn't discuss much with him about DSA as wanted him to stay focus on his study+exam on Term 1 & mid-yr exam.
Appreciated your advices for this un-decisive dad.
Thanks. -
