HCI 2022 a level cohort is 1095, still less than RI.
FYI: NYGH cohort is close to 400 each year -
HCI mean is 85, also slight drop from last year.

Yes I know.
HCI 2022 a level cohort is 1095, still less than RI.
I just want to say the difference is not as big as 20%. That's all.
Honestly, I am in awe of how well the students from both school have performed. Especially if we were to consider the fact that 2022 A level cohort happened to be the covid cohort (started JC in 2021, the height of covid restrictions) so this results is really a testament to their tenacity and hardwork. Really well done. -
@CCK2008, I see that you are obsessed with comparing HCI with RI and like to run down RI.
I have no idea how you conclude which school is more superior or more value added when the information you have gotten is insufficient for comparison. How many students started off at Sec 1 and how many did not advance to J1. And how many students are there at the start of J1 how many students fell out at J2.
I agree that HCI results is impressive. Maybe RI/RGS and RI(JC) should relook into their promo criteria.
Well HCI may be the best school in producing A level results but RI is the No. 1 school choice. :siam: -

It seems to me both are about the same in A level performance. Considering their mean and median. Both drop in mean this year.

300 to 350 JAE students joining HCI JC Year 1.
Note: Many IP Schools have a small number of overseas scholars usually joining the school at Year 3 (Sec 3).

Aren’t you also doing the same thing, towards the end of your post?

I thought only the kids in those schools trash talk each other’s school, understandably, given their age. But it seems even their parents are doing it too.
When I saw the results… my first thoughts were, damn these kids are so smart and it’s gonna be so competitive to get their choice of courses in uni. -

I believe parents with kids in the HCI IP complex (either side) would think a HCI JC1 intake size of 1,050 - 1,100 makes sense if JAE is currently 300 - 350 (per above). Supposedly (other comments here), 2023 J1 = 1,089 and 2022 A Level = 1,095.

Do you know what RI's JAE intake size is right now? I have been under the assumption that the figure is similar to that of HCI (I guess we can debate the meaning of similar
), but I could be wrong.
What we do know is that RI's A Level test takers have declined from 1,272 in 2019 to 1,175 in 2021 and 1,126 in 2022 (sorry, I don't have 2020 any longer). Unless there has been a big change in RI's JC1 --> Finish A Level in recent years, it looks like these two cohort sizes are still within probably 50 - 100 students? -
Dear Readers,
There are 2 huge big camp of supporters, here.
One is pro RI.
Another big group here, is pro Hwa Chong.
Being " fans " of their own JC, definitely each will try to paint a picture that their JC is better / stronger than the other competitor. Thus, when u read, please exercise "discernment". Do not take everything, at face value.
