Very slim chance.
It is good to short-list a few secondary schools based on his projected AL score, interests (CCA, special programmes, ...), distance, culture, ...
We brought our son to 3 open houses. He got to know more about these 3 schools via the DSA process. E.g., Open-houses (interaction with teachers/ sec students, visiting the CCA booths, …), DSA interviews, selection tests, …
Even if the DSA is not successful, it is a good chance to know more about the schools and will help in the selection of schools after PSLE results release.

If this is your son's best shot, go ahead then. Just to share, my child applied science domain last year with other school. GE, masterclass, SPSO silver, science result AL1, overall AL5, didn't shortlist for round 1. However, my child did secure a CO for another domain, same school.

Since u mentioned masterclass, may I know how many people in total invited last year? In my girl’s school, she mentioned only 1 boy went for math masterclass last year (not sure about science). And science for this yr about 5 invited last month.
