Any tips on the 2nd round practical test?

-
No of qualifiers for 2nd round is less than number of gold and silver awards(based on previous years numbers). Does it mean if can get into 2nd round, more or less guaranteed a silver at least?
On the other hand, anyone has any idea why number of participants for science olympaid first round is limited, but not for math Olympiad. Compared to maths, there seems to be very much less interest in science Olympiad. -

Personally I don’t think there is less interest for science. Rather, schools are limited by the quota set by the organisers of the competition and can only send in a team of 6 to 8 depending on which SO.No of qualifiers for 2nd round is less than number of gold and silver awards(based on previous years numbers). Not sure about SO but I heard for NMOS, if you are selected for 2nd round, more or less can get a silver or bronze. -

I guess it's because Science in primary school is a subject by itself whereas in secondary school, Science is \"branched out\" into the triple Sciences, namely Biology, Chemistry and Physics. No of qualifiers for 2nd round is less than number of gold and silver awards(based on previous years numbers). When it comes to secondary school, there are more focus on Science competitions and olympiads. Below are some examples which will eventually lead to international competitions :
For upper secondary (usually 14 to 16 year olds) :
1. Singapore Junior Biology Olympiad : https://www.sjbo-info.com/
2. Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad : https://snic.org.sg/index.php/event/sjcho
3. Singapore Junior Physics Olympiad : https://www.physics.nus.edu.sg/~phyips/sjpo_awards.html
For JCs (usually 16 to 17 year olds) :
1. Singapore Biology Olympiad : http://www.ibo-info.org/countries/singapore
2. Singapore Chemistry Olympiad : https://www.chemistry.nus.edu.sg/events/CommunityOutreach/cho.htm
3. Singapore Physics Olympiad : http://ipssingapore.org/events/SPhO.html
The JC olympiads will eventually lead to representation of Singapore in International Olympiads :
1. International Biology Olympiad : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Biology_Olympiad
2. International Chemistry Olympiad : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Chemistry_Olympiad
3. International Physics Olympiad : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Physics_Olympiad
