Oh, when you said \"mains\", I thought you meant the power source for the whole house, not just one power socket. That's not too bad, then! Yes, I had to deal with maggots, and it wasn't even my own fridge.
I dont turn off my mains at the main control box because i have cctvs at home to keep watch on burglars…plus i have pre-programmed lighting that turns on at night (again to deter burglars). -
I was very worried of the freezer coz couldn’t finish the meat. Thrown eggs. Didn’t know there was a tray untouched. Potatoes must not keep also. Then today suddenly remember the aircon lol. No smart control coz not new house/reno. Before holiday, heart very worry but once out mind totally outside not home le. Y/end hol is long holiday.

My DH went online shopping spree for 11.11 sale, and then during our overseas holiday after that the “smart” doorbell camera kept ringing daily with the deliveries. Too smart also not good. Disrupted my full enjoyment of the holiday… -

Before going holidays ,We switched off everything except fridge , piano and main air con switches.

Yes, I was surprised when you said \"mains\" because I have never heard of anyone switching off the mains when they go on vacation! -

Do you leave your keys with someone else? If so, ask that person to drop by and check for you? If it were a day, not so bad, but if you're away for a longer time, it's worth checking.

Another thing I have and do, which you could consider doing: I have a standard checklist of things to pack, and things to do before going on vacation. We run through the list in the run-up to leaving. The list is very long, to cover virtually all types of vacation, and I just edit as necessary for the specific vacation.
For future reference, you can actually freeze eggs, though I've never tried.

Bring it to MeTime...sounds so familiar lol! First kid, coz she was lost so was with her for few years..at P5 thought she can be on own already, let go. Come 2nd one, I was even more relaxed. Psle TYS also never buy updated one. Now keep telling her .. look at jie.
There's an amount of jadedness. After you have gone through it with one kid, you get tired and lazy and doesn't go through the same thing with your next child. Hopefully that child should automatically do everything correctly since she would have witnessed what his elder brother/sister went through :imanangel: -

I m just more absent minded nowadays. Actually had a gathering a day before travelling. Was feeling so bad while throwing away food..why didn't think of packing it for them to bring home etc. Use number to go in..but never mind la..already checked app.

The jadedness is indeed v true. I spent so much time on my eldest's road to PSLE but when my younger ones turn came, I already went back to FT work haha. Also, i recalled when I only had my eldest, she went to all the enrichments possible eg baby gym, I can read, angmoh speech and learning centres, chinese, music, dance etc....when my younger ones came, no enrichments at all lol.....only 1 or 2 essential ones
